Issues With Driving To And From LV From Southern California For Five Weekends In Each Direction (NthenS) Starting 8/8/14

Beginning tonight and for the next five weekends (except for Labor Day Weekend), some of the Northbound lanes of Interstate 15 going to Las Vegas from Southern California will be closed for redoing.

This construction which is called the "Cajon Crawl" (this is in the Cajon Pass) will be running from 10PM on Fridays until 3PM on Monday Afternoons and could easily add on an additional 30 to 45 Minutes to the drive. So please be aware of this!

And I now read just a little bit ago a post claiming that after the 5 weeks of this happening on the Northbound lanes of Interstate 15, it will then supposedly start happening for another five weeks on the Southbound lanes of Interstate 15 in that same area in the Cajon Pass.

I just heard an announcement on Los Angeles radio about the Cajon Pass Project. There is a website for it at: https://www.cajonpassproject.com.

I hope that this helps. The announcement said that the construction is in a one mile stretch, that the Speed Limit in the area is lowered to 60MPH and that Double Fines will be assessed in construction zones.

don't know if it's an option for you, but a lot of people, especially if they're towing something, take the 14 to the 138 to Victorville, and skip the Cajon pass.

I personally will probably not be going back to LV by the time this is done, but for me getting to the 14 would be taking me way out of the way from West Los Angeles, but this could be a way for others to get there.
