Jockey Club Time Share SCAM.

Well, I finally did it after being asked 10,000 times in Vegas my wife talked me into it, after the guy offered us $200 gambling money, I assumed match play money, from "Binions or Slots of Fun" and $100 dining credit and 2 tickets to "The Mentalist" I thought fine I will listen to the BS for all that, and I really was interested in what they had to offer. Long story short, I said I would never make a decision with-out thinking it over for a day, the Time-share salesman said I had 3 minutes to think it over and "by Nevada Law he could not offer it again for a year" REALLY? any lawyers out there know of such a law? Well that there rubbed me the wrong way and he knew it, so another salesman "from Corporate" takes us to another room and tried to talk me into just buying one week into the program for $375 and I would have a year to decide if I want to buy into the entire program, hmmmmmmm what about that law? when I said NO, NO, NO, they said fine, I will get your stuff, so we go up to this window and they give us..........$200 OF CASINO ROYAL PROMOTION MONEY , (WORTH i WOULD GUESS 5 CENTS AT THE MOST, i HAVE PLAYED MANY TIMES AND NEVER WON) $100 DINING CARD THEY DOES NOT LOOK LEGIT AT ALL, AND SOME FREE SHOW TICKETS, THE SAME KIND THEY HAND OUT FOR FREE ON THE STRIP, WHERE YOU HAVE TO BUY DRINKS AND THEY WERE NOT THE MENTALIST!!!!, say no and get nothing, what do you people get that actually buy a time share? I told the woman at the window the Casino Royal promotional $200 was worth 5 cents and she did not disagree, and those tickets are free too and she did not disagree again. So another words you just screwed me.

Please do not be a fool like me, it could ruin your trip, I was mad for about 30 minuted then got over it. lesson learned.

Any other Time-share stories out there, maybe better ones?
Thought about a FL prperty for a minute. I'm happier taking vaca @LV. The pressure sales, live, is a little less insidious than boiler rooms with folks HERE in TN selling sares in a fortune 500 company condo. No-call lists (who said gov't never helps) have almost run boiler rooms out of biz. I think airb-n-b may popularize non traditional home-renting, but I'll never sit thru a sales pitch in LV. Oh, and beware mailers for tix to US Airlines. Scam the now- merged carrier is "US Airways". Good luck!
If it sounds too good to be true....
We agreed to listen to the time share pitch at the Plaza about a year ago. It took about 45 minutes for them to understand that we only go to Vegas and our rooms are comped. They agreed that time shares probably are not for us. We each received $50 of free play at the Plaza.
It didn't work on the video poker machines, but did work on regular slots. The $100 dining card was legit, but they failed to tell us that we could only use $5 at a time. It is good at hundreds of places nationwide and never expires.

Thanks guys, keep the comments coming, also I tried to call the guy who promised us everything back and he never answered. What a dummy to give me his number!
You can ask ahead of time what the specifics of the giveaways are. My parents got free meals at CC Steakhouse and show tickets (cant remember the show) but they enjoyed it. That was for the Hilton Grand Vaca property next door to CC.

You can make an argument for buying a timeshare in some places (like Maui) where you actually will save money over booking a hotel...and maintain a high level of trading power in the network. But i would not buy anything in Vegas. You can book most of the Vegas timeshares online for about the same price of an annual timeshare commitment so why bother with the contract?

Dont ever invest in a timeshare anywhere, anytime, period.
Thanks for your first hand report.
A relative "invested" in a Bahamas time share years ago. BY the 6th year (of ten years) the yearly maintenance fee had risen to more than the yearly cost of the payments. Also you had to but your own airfare each year. The time share was never well maintained and looked shabby. They traded that Bahamas location for others in the US.
I heard of a fellow who decided to try the timeshare presentation in Mexico. He negotiated, what he felt was adequate for 90 minutes of his life and when the presentation started, he let the entire room know that his 90 minute clock had just begun. He then put on his headphones and started to listen to his music. When the sales representatives asked him to take his earphones off, he responded with "... I was told I would be here for 90 minutes and at no time did I agree to listen to the presentation." Needless to say, the sales force knew he was not going to buy and they quickly ushered him through the back door with his free stuff. They were so pissed off at him they did not pay for his cab fare back which was rather inexpensive. #winning
