Jockey Club Time Share SCAM.

We traded a week for the timeshare on Koval right behind Harrah's, which is now run by Holiday Inn. At the time, it was a Summer Bay resort. The unit was great and they were in the process of building a new reception center. They even had a free shuttle to the grocery store as well as several casinos up and down the strip as well as downtown. You were, however, on their schedule.

We agreed to take the tour, which was on site. It took about forty minutes, and we were firm in our NO. We got a $100 dining card which we used at Emeril's Table Ten. No problems whatsoever.

Our second stay, we declined the presentation.

Joy
I did a timeshare presentation once (for BlueGreen resorts), not in Vegas, and they followed through with what was offered. It was 2 roundtrip flights and 3 nights in Orlando. That was run by some 3rd party travel company, which had a ton of complaints online, but I read the terms and conditions carefully and knew what to expect.

We upgraded our flights to direct flights for a $75 'change fee' per ticket, which also let us extend the dates and turn it into a weeklong vacation. We didn't even have to book the extra hotel nights through them.

These presentations are not all bad if you're willing to take a high-pressure sales pitch and be sure to know up front what exactly you are getting.
We own one timeshare in Tunica but usually bank with RCI and go to Key West, lake Tahoe, Cocoa Beach, and every year to Vegas for the "big dance" when we trade into the Grandview and watch the games at South Point which is right next door. The first two years at the Grandview we attended the presentation to get the gifts. The salespeople at Grandview are very professional but, of course, persistent as it is their job to sell timeshares. The first year we got $200 in free play at the Excalibur which we used to play video poker. The second year we got a bunch of free stuff at the South Point which was useful. We have not done the presentation since as since we have no intention of buying another timeshare I feel guilty about taking the salesperson's time and the resorts free stuff. My wife just does not want to experience the grilling so she agrees. When we check in we get our parking pass and firmly refuse the presentation. The Grandview is a really good place to stay.
I did the timeshare presentation years ago at some place behind Imperial Palace. I actually was interested in buying in. But the whole "you have to tell us right now or the deals off" thing was crazy to me. I said I needed a night to think over a commitment like that, and was told it was too late. The more I thought about it the more mad I got at such a crazy short offer. I won't go through that again.
