Karaoke - the new street bum money maker

For awhile it seemed like the street bums were trying to mimic the costumed performers on Fremont St and the Strip. They must not have fared very well because I noticed their numbers were smaller on my latest trip.

The new fad seems to be street karaoke. I probably saw 20 homeless people on the street with their K-Mart Karaoke machine singing songs. It was kinda cute at first - but just like the costumed characters it got to be annoying by the 5th/6th occurrence.

I wonder what the next fad will be...
Oh boy, stop giving them money and they will go away!
sorry, as you can see from my icon I give money to street vendors on occasion. If your hot and going to show your boobs on Fremont street, I'm in for $5! Only hot show girls for $5--again I am in! I have pictures with a guy that looked like Leonard Nemoy, The Pirates of the carribean, etc who cares? it beats me paying them for unemployment! They don't slow down my Vegas experience one iota!
I do not however endorse paying that old man in a diaper that runs around Fremont street or the women in the disgustingly dirty Sponge Bob costume people like that. If its a good costume that someone paid good money trying to make a buck....why not? The guy that spray paints everything Gold and then stands like a statue.....come on, that's cool as shit! Do you know how long it must take to get ready for a night of posing? I throw a buck in his hat here and there.

Loosen up LVA'rs!

Got to agree with you Weggie. I'm looking forward to seeing Fremont Street with the costume people spread out a little more..It was too crowded for awhile. Panhandling in moderation..

Fremont Street is definitely a trip. I have a couple of ummm interesting pics from there. One that quickly comes to mind is the girl with the fake gun who'll wrap her legs around you
Understand there are two kinds of street performers.
(a) the professionals who have real talent, beauty, costumes, personality.
(b) the street bums dressed up in a cheap spider man costume which they have slept in for the last 2 months.

The A's add to the enjoyment of your Las Vegas vacation. The B's - not so much.
I saw something on my last trip that surprised me. I always assumed that the "dirty costume" crowd consisted on sole proprietors - entrepreneurs, if you will - that owned their own costumes. But as I was walking between DTG and the Cal at about dusk, I saw a bunch of people changing into costumes beside a van in a parking lot. So now I'm wondering if they just show up, take on a costume and split the proceeds with the person who owns the outfits, or maybe just rent the outfit.
There is a woman that has bleach blonde hair, her complexion is on the snow white side and she tends to wear red lip stick in a red devils out fit complete with horns (huge boobs mind you). For $10 she will take a picture with you topless right on Fremont street! I have only seen her from about 50 feet away but at that distance she is smoking hot. It is on my bucket list to score a picture with her.
I talked with a "spock" impersonator who is a dead ringer for about 10 minutes once and he was an extremely interesting guy. He said he makes a decent living going to comicons, hanging out on Fremont street and trys out for TV shows whenever possible.
Lastly, I have multiple pictures of Elvis impersonators including one at the "welcome to Las Vegas" sign. He had a Pink 1956 Caddy with him with a license that says "Elvis". He kne
w everything about caddy's....a real car guy
sharing those gross dirty costumes sounds disgusting, but I know I have seen the same Square Pants costume worn by different people.

I ran into her early one afternoon when the place was darn near empty. She approached me and gave me the $2/$5/$10 tip options and how she was going to show so much more for the $10. I gave her $3 and my wife took 3 pics of us, full on, with her hugging me around my waist. I recommend that you don't pay the full $10, as I don't know how she could have shown anymore than that in public.
