Kids in Casinos

Just returned from a weeks stay and am very disappointed. Boy, I miss the old Vegas. Remember when Casinos catered to the gamblers and not the kids. Whatever happened to Casino Security ! It seems like every Casino I went into the only thing happening is music so loud to can't think or visit with anyone , and screaming teen agers all over place ( who by the way were not spending a cent on the slots or table games) and by the looks where sure not old enough to be drinking , but all had drinks in their hands. I've had it with Vegas, going to find a nicer gambling town to visit from now on.
You kids get off my lawn!!!
Come to CT! We have 2 great casinos and we need your money!
Which casinos? C ircus Circus? Caesars does not have many. Are you possibly getting older and 21 year olds look younger to you? My daughter was 23 in St. Louis showed an ID and this jerk chick guard kept saying You aint 21 you aint 21. She said I know I am 23.

I think the only casino in LV that has been tough on kids on the casino floor IS Circus Circus. I saw a security guard make a couple of 6/7 year olds start crying. They were waiting outside a restroom (for mom) and the guard told them they could not be there and had to leave. They just kept saying--mom's in there (and pointing to the restroom). He would not listen and just started walking them away. He seemed to not care if there was no adult with them==just not to be on the casino floor. Great way to get a kid napped I was thinking.
If you aren't 21 you have no business in a casino.

I totally agree.
May is HS Prom month in LV so on any weekend, you will find loads of teenagers at the properties. They stop at the prom to make a showing and then head for the strip.

Last visit to RR there was a big prom. The kids must have walked around the outer circle 3 times. Why can't I remember the girls looking that good at my prom?
My children love going to Las Vegas and I see nothing wrong with taking them there for a family vacation. That being said, I keep my children away from the casino floor and bar areas whenever possible, and I strongly disagree with parents walking around Fremont St. At 11pm with their kids in strollers. There are drunk people everywhere not to mention scantily clad people all over the place. It is NO PLACE for kids. I think the reason my kids enjoy Las Vegas is because we don't make them stand around waiting in lobbies or in the hotel room while we gamble. We barely gamble when they are with us and rather choose to focus on the entertainment opportunities that the city has to offer. THERE IS A LOT TO DO IN VEGAS THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE GAMBLING. The last time we visited Vegas with our kids (we take one family trip every summer) we stayed at Circus Circus (don't stay there if you don't have kids) and visited the Adventuredome, the Las Vegas Museum of Natural History (AWESOME), the Clark County Museum, Ethel M Chocolate Factory, Silverton to check out the live mermaid show, the Pinball hall of fame and the Bellagio conservatory. We were so tired at the end of that day that we almost fell asleep at dinner (Rock N' Rita's). We are taking our summer trip in 2 weeks and are headed back to Circus Circus and will visit the Adventuredome, Planet Hollywood for "The Beatle Show", the Venetian for the Madame Tussaud's, back to Pinball Hall of Fame and to New York New York for the coaster and some sight seeing. I for one, cannot wait!

You can go to Vegas with kids, but please remember the trip should be about them having fun, not you. If you can't handle that then find them a babysitter!
