Landry's Select Club experiences?

I have used it 2x with good experience. Used the VIP both times so check in was quick. Loved the water and M&M also at VIP. Yes they said I should have mentioned the card when I called to book but still allowed me to use it. My friend was not able to upgrade as they were full.

I also used the birthday with out any problem. In fact my friend also had the birthday special and our waiter gave us separate checks at Chart House so we could both use it. I found Chart house staff and manager to be super. You could use it for booze also and even happy hour.
So with the Landry's card you can use VIP check-in? Even if you didn't make your reservation as a Landry's member? I signed up after I already made my reservation thru the Golden Nugget website but I have a Rush tower room reserved already and really want that room so I am not going to 'gamble' by booking a lower room and hoping to be upgraded. Especially since we are staying for a week. I will show my card however and see if they will upgrade me to a suite but don't really expect it to happen.
But using VIP check-in would come in handy if they are busy. Although I seem to remember reading that the rush tower check-in isn't as busy anyway. Anyone have that experience?

Yes to both. I used VIP without calling them about my reservation and they said just call next time. Rush tower is not as busy as the other check in.
Just thought I would post my experience with the $25 credit portion of this in case it might come in handy for others. I got my $25 welcome credit and now in March got my $25 birthday credit. I wanted to use it all in Vegas but we are not going until april 17th and the birthday credit would expire.
We ended up coming downtown pittsburgh St. Patty's day and used the credit at the only restaurant in the area so that I would not lose it. (I had emailed Landry's and asked if I could use the $25 birthday now and save the $25 welcome but they said no, it gets used in order). In looking online it looked like the credit was good for the whole bill so we ordered food and drinks and it came to a little over $50. However when we got the bill they had only taken off for the food, when we asked she said the PA laws do not let them take off the alcohol. So we had to pay for that portion and I am going to lose about $19 of the credit that I have.
Your state might have different laws. It's still worth it to get it since I did get my money back that I paid for the card.
