We have not been to Vegas for 18 months, use to go a couple times a year. With all the fees and taxes thrown on everything from getting there to hassles of dealing with so many people we prefer to go local. Live in central Nebraska, Harrahs properties and Ameristar in Council Bluffs a 4 hour drive away. We have started going to Hard Rock Sioux City a few time last 3 months.
Never pay for rooms at Council BLuffs, harrahs properties and pretty good amount of food are either comped or payed with RC's.
Really enjoy the hotel/casino Hard Rock @ Sioux CIty. Hotel is old building downtown referbed and really nice rooms and the greatest pillows and beds! Drive is again about 4 hours for us. They have started sending some decent offers. Oh, importantly have won on these trips!
Will probably continue to go local as we can go much more often than the Vegas trip. Plus wife says she has tired of the Vegas experience.
