Looking For A New Casino

With the current downgrading at the Palms, I am looking for a new casino. Clearly the strip is out since it is a VP wasteland. Was thinking either a Stations property or maybe South Point. Any suggestions on which would be better for comps? I am planning to go out before Christmas and want to put in a solid day of play to see what offers I get.

Thanks.
Although I can't answer for either place that you mentioned since I haven't been to either of them for years (I do prefer to be in a place where I can easily walk from one casino to another instead of taking a drive), Downtown LV is another option for some decent VP (if you're interested) and it definitely takes less action (coin-in) to get comps out of those casinos than the Strip Casinos.

Although I should say that with the Stations Casinos, it may differ from one casino to another what you can get out of them and for what games they offer. But do further check into this.

South Point marketing offers are terrible. You won't get mailers for hundreds of dollars of freeplay, giftcards, etc., no matter how much play you give them. But their hosts are really nice and pretty generous - you should get meals and rooms (even suites) comped on the back end.

I'm not sure what paytables you require, but the M is a beautiful property with wonderful standard rooms, much much nicer than the SouthPoint. And they send out monthly mailers that are a bit more generous as well, including double point days on vp and 5x point days on slots.
I get good offers from Sams, Orleans, Red Rock & GVR...covers both Boyd & Stations. They all have excellent VP.

would recommend the boyd properties downtown----mss,fremont and california -----all have decent vp, are within walking distance of each other, and fairly liberal with offers----

sams town, gold coast and the orleans also use the same boyd players card and have decent vp----
I like the "M" but is pretty far removed from everything else. They have lots of newer machines with decent pay schedules. I mostly play 8/5 Bonus Poker and they have lots of that.

Stations give you a wide variety of properties to choose from which is nice - with lots of really good restaurants to choose from. I just dont seem to do well at their casinos for some reason. Not a big fan of their resort fees either.
M resort is great....beautiful place, great rooms, and excellent food. If you're "into" beer, the sports book bar is the BEST with about 100 tap beers from all over the world
Southpoint is excellent for VP players.....try talking to Courtney, my host there. She's a nice lady and fairly liberal with her comps. But, the previous posts are correct, not much in the way of mailers.

Obviously, both of these places are independent properties, so you don't have a lot of casino options as you do with Stations and Boyd.

I'm a big fan of The Orleans. Tons of VP.

Well I am a fan of South Point my current homebase for the last 6 and soon to be 7 trips. Their mailers were always sad. I was surprised that for THEM they took a step forward. Comped city view room but included $50 in free play and $50 in resort credits. Good offer for them.

I like the great amount of decent VP. And no penalty the same for slots as VP. 1$ = 1 point. And 1,000 points = $3 in comps or slot play. My host is always happy to give me comped nites. This time Friday tru Tursday. And a comped meal or 2 not a problem.

So overall SP is a nice choice. As mentioned it is a little far south But I always have a car so not a concearn.
