Yeah, that prop bet was just one of many that can afford a significant edge if you know the factors that affect it. In this case, if the Rams were winning or about to win as time was running out, then there would be as many as three "rushing attempts" by Stafford. For instance, let's say that Cincy was behind late in the game, driving, but turned it over on downs. Then Stafford would take the snap and kneel three times, putting the bet Over right there. So Over 2.5 was IMHO a +EV bet.
I'm given to understand that for some players, the Super Bowl props are the opportunity of the year--probably because there are so many of them, there has to be value somewhere--and as soon as those bets are posted, a small army descends on Vegas.
