More On Scotty's Castle -- Re: LVA QOD 6/20/2014

Hi Group,

For a great show all about Scotty's Castle, you should see the "California's Gold" episode done by the late, great Huell Howser. It can be viewed at: https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/1995/12/10/scottys-castle-californias-gold-607/.

Enjoy!

Thank you for posting this. We've made several trips to Death Valley from Las Vegas, but we've never made it to Scotty's Castle. It's certainly very interesting & very beautiful. Much more, in fact, than I had ever imagined.
Who knows? Maybe we'll make it there someday.
Fascinating! Thank you for posting this with the link. Who knew?
You're very welcome! The late, great Huell Howser did extensive touring all over California and even more recently than when that show was done did a show about a "Kinder, Gentler Las Vegas" (which included visits to places like The Springs, the Nevada Museum, the Old Mormon Fort, the Welcome To Las Vegas Sign and the Atomic Testing Museum. To get to this specific show, go to the search function and type in "Las Vegas Road Trip."

He also did, (if I'm remembering correctly) more than one show about Death Valley plus Zzyzx (to get to that show, type in "Zzyzx -- Calfornia's Golden Parks" in the Search Function) and other spots that are on the way to Las Vegas (at least from Southern California -- although some of these shows may not be available yet -- this site is still a work in progress).

Plus he also did about a 1 hour show on the history of "In-N-Out Burger" which I know that at least some people around here like the place. That show is available by going to:
https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/2010/05/31/in-n-out-burger-californias-gold-146/.

And I also have seen other video by Huell Howser on Youtube, so check this out as well!

Thanks for posting this info, RecVPPlayer - I've never heard of this gentleman, but it looks like there is a lot of interesting information to check out on the site!

You're very welcome. Huell Howser became a Southern California institution although he previously also worked at CNN. I think that there are some clips of him while he was on CNN that are on Youtube, so check that out if you are interested.

Huell Howser did travel shows all over California and even to some other places like Cuba, Russia and Australia if I remember correctly.
