Motorcycle Week - Fremont Street

Just because I was free and the Golden Nugget is having a craps tournament, I decided to go to Las Vegas (Fremont street) from September 28th until October 5th.

While looking for a deal on a room, I called the Fitzgeralds casino about an e-mail offer that I have and of coarse the dates for my offer were blacked out because "it's a big week end on Fremont Street" (or so she told me). It is motor cycle week in Las Vegas.

Has anyone got any good or bad experiances with bike week in Las Vegas? Can I expect anything like I see on TV? a mini sturgis type week end if you will?

By the way, $46 week nights and $115 Friday and Saturday nights at the Fritze just wasnt gonna happen. I got $32 a night week days, and $89 Friday and Saturday night at the fremont. That Ruby card is really paying off huh?

Anyone have any advice about the rooms in the Fremont Casino?

Consider yourself lucky with Bike week going on, for that rate!

Well Weggie, I stayed there once several years ago and I don't know if the rooms have been updated since, but when I was there, there were shutters in the room (which I did not like because I like a lot of darkness when I want to sleep -- and with the shutters, a bunch of light came in) and the bathroom was so small, that the rack for the towels was in the back of the shower! I was horrified when I saw that!

Here is a list of scheduled events for bike week. Looks like the Golden Nugget is head quarters for the bike week. https://lasvegasbikefest.com/events.asp

HMMM,bike week huh? We're staying at GN 28 and 29. I wonder what to expect myself. Hopefully all will be cool. Bikers are some of the nicest epople around . Only problem would be if bunchs of them from diff "clubs" show up wearing there colors. That can be a bad mix,i've never experienced that personally, but i know it can be trouble sometimes. We'll see.

JOHN

PS The rates for GN were very reasonable. 160 bucks for 2 nights in the gold tower. Weggie ,i'll buy ya a beer if we happen to run into each other.

works for me!
FYI ~ The actual dates on the BikeFest 2011 site are September 29 - October 2.

hard core criminal gangs do not usually associate with events, since they bring heat, and criminals hate heat. I will tell you one story about colors and vegas. I know the availability of new clubs is supposed to be controlled, though some states seem to have more clubs than you can count. Lets just say most of the majors are known to me. Before the angels were angels, they were 'boozefighters.' I gasped when I saw a scooter from california under a biker wearing that on his back. I know the angels would have an opinion on that. That's why I say it appears to be some lack of control in cali about new names or colors. My advice on bike week, is ignore it if you wanna. They aren't gonna shoot up downtown like they did laughlin. Too much heat. Good luck!
Street Vibrations inReno, is the week before Bike week in Vegas.
We seem to be there when its going on. No big deal really.
Other than seeing more Leather than usual, things are pretty tame.

Legitimate motorcycle chapters do more charity work than you can imagine.
They are NOT associated with Hells angels or Monguls from So. Cal.
You really Don't see those 2 (bad) groups attending "organized" events like Bike week.
You should be just fine.
I attended bike week in Laconia/ Weirs Beach N.H. in June for 10 days averaged $125.00 a night.
