Mt Charleston Temp

Good Day!

T-2 days and counting. Usually we're there over the course of the winter. Thought it would be a good time to visit Mt Charleston as it's the only day-trip we haven't done yet.

Should a guy familiar with midwestern winters pack a long-sleeved shirt for the journey??

Not sure of the temperature difference.

Thanks!
We were there in the summer two years ago and the temps were in the mid 50's during the day it was well in to the 100's on the strip.

It was chilly just getting out of the car but we warmed up after about five minutes of hiking.
Figure 20-30 degrees cooler then the Strip. Take Hwy 157 up and 156 down for a change in scenery, 158 connects them near the top.

We take some deli sandwiches and bottled water for a picnic. There is a pay to park picnic area but there are plenty of places to pull over and eat or walk. After a couple of days of casino noise it is eerily quite up there.

Enjoy
Thanks!

20-30 down from 95 still puts it in my comfort zone!!!

Rocky,

We did take the "loop" - not 100% sure I would have done that without the suggestion. A little longer but well worth it. Great views - and had a nice visit with a wild burrow snacking alongside the road!

Thanks for the tip!
