Nascar at LV Speedway Shuttle Vs. Rental car question..........

For anyone who has been to LV Speedway for Nascar before:

Wondering since we have a Rental car, is it possible for ME to get anywhere near the Speedway to
drop the guys off? Is there a Drop off area?

Should The Guys take the car themselves? (how much is parking?)
I've hear horror stories about getting out of there.......

Or, is the best way to go, pay the $45 pp fee for Shuttle serv. from the strip?
I think you might pay $45 or more in gasoline and frustration. But, if anyone can do it, you can, CLV!

I seem to remember a bar or motel or some other joint across from the place, you could drop them off and they can walk from there.
You can drop them off, but you won't be able to pick them up. At the end of the race, all roads are one way going out of the racetrack and halfway thru the race, they do not let anyone back in. That's why limos and buses for the race have to be booked for the entire time since once you leave you can't get back. The closest pick-up point you could arrive at after the race is the gas station and convenience store right off I-15 which is quite a walk from the raceway, but that is as close as you can get at the end of the race.

Hey, thats some good info. Thank you very much.

I'm not crazy Candy........lol.........I think I will let the Guys take the car, or do the Shuttle-thang.

Thanks also Larry, I think that could be a hefty Limo bill if you have to book the WHOLE time.
Didn't know about the road closures, so thats important to know.

HATE these double posts!
Parking is free. I did the shuttle one year and swore never again. At the end of the race I stood in a long line, in the hot sun, for what seemed like an hour, only to be put on a bus that crawled at a snails pace through the airforce base. At least if you have a car there you can enjoy the AC, while the traffic clears.
Just don't make plans for a show in the evening. Improvements to the I-15 south has made the traffic a little easier, but still takes awile. I usually just hang around the track while the traffic clears, do some shopping in the merchandise area, check out the displays, take pictures etc.

This reminds me of a couple summers ago when a music festival ended. The local news showed lots of people walking back toward the city on a Monday morning.

Thanks all,
and snow........

Rental car sounds like way ta go.
Our only experience was 2 years ago on Caesars shuttle bus. First class
treatment, and we were outta there, out the back way, in no time flat.
This time, its our dime. Shuttle would be $45 X 2, and didn't think about the LINES, Yikes!
So, I think the guys can take the rental car, and come back whenevers. Thank youse.

If you decide to drive it yourself, please report back on how it went.

I've had a couple of different shuttle experiences over the years.

In the early 2000's, I used a shuttle company that picked up and dropped off at certain hotels on the strip. After the race, I went out to the parking area, and all the buses were gone. They'd loaded up with earlier departers and left. We had to stand out there for about 90 minutes waiting for buses to come back to the track. Then the 2nd wave loaded up and left. Thing is, there weren't enough buses for everyone who was waiting, so some had to stand there for another 90 minutes.

Much better is the bus service provided when you buy a room/ticket/transportation package from a hotel. Your bus picks you up right at the hotel, waits for you at the track, loads & goes right after the race, with more buses standing by, and drops you right back at your hotel. I've used South Point and SunCoast for this, and they both do a great job.
