Neon Boneyard and museums

IS the Neon Boneyard by bus? What other museums would you recomend? I was thinking Atomic, can you go by bus? How was the new MOB? Was looking at CSI experance too.

The Neon Boneyard is on bus line 113. It's also a quick 15 minute walk north from Fitzgerald's.

However, I would caution that this area north of downtown has a very high homeless population, the downest of the down and outs in Vegas. I feel comfortable almost anywhere at anytime, but even this area gives me pause. Might be a place to check out when you have a car.
Atomic Testing museum is on a bus route.
Make sure you make a reservation at the Neon Boneyard. Was going to go in March and tried to make a reservation online for different times and days. The site kept telling me not available so I e-mailed them figuring it was a mistake or they were closed...

They e-mailed me back that they were sold out for those days and that they regularly sell out. She recommended at least 3-4 weeks in advance for reservations.

I do not know about the bus route but the Atomic Testing museum was very interesting well worth it. The neon thing was good if you can get there with ease.

Make sure you take a good camera to the Neon Boneyard - you can take some fabulous Vegas history home...
I've taken the Neon Boneyard tour and toured the Atomic Testing Museum...I agree...both were excellent. And yes, you have to reserve your boneyard tour in advance.
And if you do the boneyard tour, wear regular shoes (not sandals or flip-flops), wear sunblock & a hat and take water.
I will second the recommendation on both of these. I think Atomic Testing is doing a new exhibit on area 51 which could be interesting. I don't think people realize that the unique museums of LV are some of the best offbeat things you can do.
I've visited the Atomic Testing Musuem, the Mob Museum, and the Neon Boneyard. All are a welcome and fairly inexpensive way to take a break from winning in the casinos.

I'd allow at least three hours for the testing museum and the mob museum. I only had about 2 hours for the testing museum and missed seeing several things I'd like to have seen. It seems to me the boneyard tour only took about an hour, but I know they were hoping to expand and add a museum.

And the boneyard tour is outside, so like lasvegasgambler said, prepare for that.
