Anyone play this and if so what do you think about it? I am a pretty serious craps player but found myself having fun with this game. They have it at several casino's....TI, Bellagio, Palazzo,...MGM.....anywhere else...like off strip?
If you are a serious Craps player, check out the LVA Question of the Day for today - Fri 2nd March. I am a fairly new Craps player but am meticulous in learning everything I can about anything that I start. And from what I have been learning, this is a great option - even though I won't bet anywhere near the max - but at least it means that I can go as high as I want to, rather than to a low specified limit.
It is also available at Monte Carlo. It does look like its fun to play. There were four people playing and having a good time. I didn't check the payouts but the 'shooter' was making place bets, odds bets, hard ways, etc. The other players were getting anxious for him to hit the 'pop up' button! He was very meticulous making his bets, so folks had to wait.
We call it boggle craps because it looks like a giant game of boggle.....with a clear plastic dome covering the dice. The dice sit on a vibrating table and at the right time the shooter hits a button and the dice "pop" up and we see the results. About 8 people can sit around the table and make bets at a computer screen.....100% automated.
I'm not sure if the place bets are paid off at the "correct" payouts...but I believe all the rest are paid out correctly. Lot of fun.....great way to learn the game without being intimidated.
By 100% automated you're saying there isn't even an attendant that takes your money and puts the credit on the machine? So the machine accepts the cash?
I was at Majestic Star casino in Indiana and they have roulette which is 100% automated, unlike rapid roulette where you still have an employee who takes your cash and spins the wheel.
I played it when I was there in Sept. I used it as a way to teach my better half how to play without disturbing other players that are usually squished up to you at the regular tables. I think the min bid was 2 bucks so we were able to play for quite some time. The game moved a lot slower than normal craps so I found myself getting bored often. We also never saw a waitress come by.
I would say its good for beginners who don't want to bet 10 a roll but for those looking to make money play with lots of patience for the newbies.
I played this over the weekend at the Palms and had a great time. I was pretty easy to navigate the screen and place bets. Had little trouble figuring out how to take bets down but finally got it. Played for about an hour and lost $2. Drink service was good however you did not earn any points for playing. I actually had 18 rolls at one point which was pretty good. Will definately play on future trips.
