New Name for McCarran?

Will the name McCarren disappear completely or will they just have new names for the terminals, i.e. the Goldwater Terminal at Sky Harbor. ... Frank Kush Field at Sun Devil Stadium. ... Coach Jim Brock Field at ASU Packard Stadium?
The idea is for Las Vegas' airport to no longer be called McCarran International Airport. Because, from a city marketing standpoint, visitors have no idea who McCarran was and therefore have another opportunity to become confused.

In the real world, I don't think this confusion impacts the Vegas economy much, but I'm sure it has at least a teeny, tiny, almost imperceptible impact.
I think calling it simply.......Las Vegas Airport, is good enough.

But isn't there some other LVA around here somewhere?

Yes, in France (Laval). I can't imagine any scenario where McCarran would want to lose "LAS", that's ideal.
How about "Yeay! Field," since that is what everyone yells when they land?
steve wynn says name it STEVE WYNN airport, resort and casino
I'm not a fan of re-naming. If something was named in 'honor' of somebody, leave it alone.
I say keep the name but change the advertising motto to "McCarran Airport - where you can find your luggage and still lose your shirt."
