Next election I'm

Next National election I'm voting for anyone who is not in office today. What we have in office today are people who really act as if they do not care what's good for America. They have huge ego problems that they are trying to satisfy. What have they done for you lately. What we need is some serious closed door meeting between both party leaders and start helping the citizens that elected them into the office to serve America. This is not a Dem or a Rep problem. It is time we stop pointing fingers and start solving the problems facing all American today.
TheGreek has been on these forums long enough to know that this post belongs in the sink, however he doesn't screw up that often (less then me) so I let it pass.

I was reminded of my father, a yellow-dog-democrat, really a dixicrat, walking out of the voting booth in 1972, McGovern vs Nixon with tears in his eyes. I never ask how he voted.

TheGreek has inspired me to use early voting, vote as responsible as I can and take a cold shower. Then fly to Vegas and watch the returns in a good sports book, where it belongs.
rockymet i was actually posting it out of pure discuss with the direction that our country is running to quite quickly. yes post a little out of line but it is mostly my thoughts. i'm retired retired at 59 and really have a rahter nice reitrement. allows 1 cruise and 6 trips to vegas since 2000 per year. cruise only 7 of those years did miss 4 cruises. but when i looked around and see hard working people that have put in their time not being able to enjoy retirement is burns my A$$. Then I look around and see the elected officials have really not miss a beat it is pure discuss. Voting out all was the extreme but not far from reality. I do agree rockymet has the right idea cold beer and a sportsbook in Las Vegas after the cold shower. This will happen on September 20 through the 27 and again nov 1 through the 8th. Do have to say a flat tax and this one will never happen TERM LIMITS is the answer other than that quite a few elected officials make holding office a honeymoon.
I did not mean that the post was out of line but should have been posted in Kitchen Sink rather then Vegas General. Otherwise we are on the same page.

I also am retired and 59 (for a few more weeks) and travel a good bit. Hope to run into you in Vegas soon.

Congrats on retirement. With us going out 6 times a year we always stay at the GN. We travel the strip and out to the casinos on the outskirts during daylight hours and back downtown at night. We always seem to have a great time downtown bobbing in and out of casinos all night. I had a battle with lung cancer which pushed up my retirement date faster than what I wanted. They removed 1/2 of my right lung. I had 156 hours of Chemo and 33 radiation treaments. Afte the operation it got to the place I could not do the jobs I enjoyed and it was getting to me. Thanks to GOD I have been cancer free for 14 years. Anyhow I was told this by a customer (retired) and it has really become a fact. The first 2 or 3 years you will say to yourself I do not know how I ever got this all done and still had a full time job. Then one day you look around and the landscaping is all done, the deck is stained, and a lot more jobs are complete and you say what's next. That's when you have to have a plan. My biggest problem was I missed the employees and the customer contact you had daily. That I missed the most. I was a Store Manager for the Kroger Company and this was the beauty part I love my job. I was a hands on dig in a get the job done. I was this type of Manager and you could tell by my employees support. I was always on the sales floor talking to custoemrs helping employees with their jobs and love every minute of it. The most important thing is to have that plan. When I was told that I just laughed but some many times since then I have looked back and said to myslef I'm glad I had a warning about the plan. You will get a little bored at times.
so, its off topic? oh well..... I'm leaving federal work in a few months (age 59) and feel sick about people who dont have the ability or will to pile up what it takes to be comfortable after the income drops. For sure, the political climate hurts us all. I dont think I can vote for angela davis again, can I? Good Luck!
Radford,

Welcome to the brotherhood

Now put on those powder blue Sans-Belt slacks and white bucks then ride the charter bus to the dog tracks! The best part was recently taken away, going to a Shuttle Launch and waiting for days until until the candle went off. Baseball Spring Training in Florida and Arizona is the peak of western civilization. Enjoy

Do take a year of and get adjusted before doing anything too worthwhile. And beware of twenty hour a week part time jobs, they become sixty hour a week grinds.
Congrats on the retirement.

Unfortunately, most of us in the private sector are not able to retire at 50 (my brother the cop), 55, 59 or 60. The govt wants us to work until we are close to 70. I don't see myself retiring anytime soon.
