No wedding pictures at Bellagio

I drove a wedding couple and their friends from the Always and Forever Wedding Chapel last week. They wanted to take pictures at the Bellagio and the Welcome to Las Vegas sign before returning to their hotel. They had no problem in the Conservatory of the Bellagio, but when they were taking pictures by the fountain, a Bellagio security guard came up to them and told them that wedding pictures were not permitted ANYWHERE on Bellagio property. The people taking the pictures were just friends of the wedding couple and not a professional photographer, but again, they were told they could not take photos and were asked to leave. Amazingly, everyone else was taking pictures and it was perfectly all right. I guess if she took off her gown, they could have continued. It seems like wedding couples are discriminated against here.

I've seen brides being photographed at the Bellagio for years, as it is a great place to take photos and have mementos of a Vegas Wedding and I can't understand how and why Bellagio would have this rule, but it is in place and it is enforced.

She should have said that his and her attire was their everyday attire. Bellagio, give me a break, if that truly is their policy.
But you can take pictures with the street charaters for money, WTF thats a little f*&^%& up.
There's also a professional photographer that I drive around town when he has a wedding party in town and he no longer goes to Bellagio because of the ban. It really is their policy now for whatever reason.

A bride and groom in full regalia should walk throughout the Bellagio property to garner the attention of the security staff on the lookout for a flash of a camera. Just to mess with them. Or a half a dozen couples dressed as brides and grooms that spread out throughout the campus, making security a nervous wreck. That would be fun.
It looks on the Bel web site that they have a photographer on contract for weddings. Probably something drawn up in the contract, to head off competing business on the property.

Sorry to have had that moment spoiled for the couple, though. Ugh.

Bel should notify all limo companies of this policy so that unpleasantness can be avoided.
Larry actually brought this to the attention of LVA and we addressed the situation in the Question of the Day for 7/25/14, which you can find in the Archives. I personally spoke with both the security and the photography departments at Bellagio:
