Non Smoking Property

Chilccot, that post and photo are so wrong.

"Don't be mad at lvfritz.
He's likely still steamed that our oppressive government won't let freedom loving adults like him drive on the wrong side of the road"
lvfritz is arguing for the right to poison other people who are just trying to make a wage by dealing cards and serving drinks. Or was, until he blew yet another gasket yesterday afternoon.

Hard to be too rough on the arguments of someone who thinks that's poisoning others is a right that society should protect.
I will break this down for you so that even a child can understand.

I am not arguing for poisoning anyone.

What I am arguing for is freedom from leftists such as yourself.

You want a casino that is non smoking? Open one! It is a free country. If you don't like the casino as it is, DON'T GO THERE.

If you would have taken the time to read this thread before insulting me, you would know that I'm a non smoker. I don't care for smokey casino's any more than the next guy. It is just that I don't think limiting others rights is the way to get the world the way I want it.

Really, the government needs to be involved in people's smoking habits? No thank you comrade.
This society has never attempted to cater to every desire someone might couch as a "freedom".

We don't give movie goers the freedom to yell "fire" in a crowded theater when there's no fire.

We don't afford drivers the freedom to cruise school zones at 140mph.

We don't allow unlicensed pilots the freedom to fly jumbo jets.

We don't let hobbyists the freedom to construct breeder reactors in their backyards

We've limited these freedom's because they expose the public to too much danger.

We've been making progress limiting the power of smokers to inflict their poison (yes, it's poison) on others. We're not done, there's a ways to go yet, but we'll get to where we need to be, as our opponents become educated or (more likely) die off.

People like lvfritz will never understand anything except for what he wants to understand, because that's how the conservative mind works. Take Dick Cheney for example. One of the most conservative men alive. What is his one liberal trait? He supports gay rights----oh, what a surprise, he has a gay daughter. The conservative mind cannot comprehend anything outside their own circle, or anything past a few years down the road, such as global warming. They live in a world of total denial. They have no ability to put themselves in anybody else's shoes.
I come to this forum for gambling information, to be entertained and to connect with the friends I've made, NOT to see photos of car crashes and other images illustrating destruction.

Implying another member's belief system is the reason for a car crash . . . is just wrong.
I understand that rational conversation here is near impossible, but one last, desperate attempt for Chilly.

Nice pix.......and maybe they make sense to you. But they are all of illegal activities. Please tell me that smoking is also illegal so that you have a shred of logic somewhere in your images.

Oh, that's right, smoking is still a legal activity, isn't it? Kind of makes your position problematic, doesn't it?

But you and your political allies evidently don't want to make smoking illegal because you are making money off it. Make tobacco products illegal, and I will join with you in clearing it out everywhere in the country. But I am not anxious to see you legislate against legal products. Left hand, meet right hand.

I very much look forward to your next set of images accompanied by more of your political ranting.
Driving, piloting, shouting, and nuclear reactor building are not illegal activities. Each can be legally done, subject to strict government regulations designed to protect the public.

Same concept will apply to smoking. We've successfully eradicated it from most public spaces, so as to protect the innocent from the smoker's poison.

We'll get smoking out of casinos too, just watch.

Certain freedoms, unfettered, cause a lot of havok.

We definitely should approach every issue with a bias in favor of affording freedom. That's always the starting point.

But some activities are too dangerous to tolerate in a civilized society. It's hardly as bad as most of the examples I've cited, but I think that forcing workers to accept second hand smoke as a condition of employment is too much to ask. Smokers can go poison themselves elsewhere, then come back for a hand of cards or a drink.

The smokers I know are reasonable and do this already, but a few need the threat of a ticket to comply. Sad, but that's just how some people are.
if there was a vote between smokeless casinos vs. chilcoot-less lva, id vote for the latter.
