Not an MLife Fan

I am a Diamond HET/CET player and Platinum MGM/MLife Player. I just achieved Platinum Status this week staying at NYNY after two trips. For now, I am not sold on the MLife program. The obvious is the resort fees that have to be comp off using Express Comps - too me that is B.S. Despite playing through over $150k in coin-in, they were petty in requiring me to use Express Comps to remove my resort fees. At HET/CET I wouldn't have to waste comps on resort fees. Second, I call today to schedule a follow up trip in July without an offer. I am expecting comp rooms at NYNY based upon my play, but without an offer they are giving me a casino rate of $39 per night for a Delux Broadway View or $69 for Player Suite, plus resort fees. (They had just comp me three nights in a Player Suite this past week - Sunday - Wed) They will not even comp my room in advance without an offer. There could be many reasons for this, however from a playing perspective I gave them a total of six days of solid play over the six nights I was there and easily achieved platinum after the fifth night when I went up to get a card after losing my other one and they gave me the Platinum card. They are getting better with Express Comps being able to be used as you go like Total Rewards, but I think they still have a ways to go to catch up to Total Rewards. If they will eliminate the resort fees and comp rooms like HET/CET, then they will probably be on par with Total Rewards. I still like being able to book comp rooms at will with HET online without an offer. IMO.
It seems and was also stated in Conference call for MGM earnings that they are tightening up on comps for low and middle players.
I think Mlife will eventually mean few comps for all but highest level players. Seems that they are going the way of Venetian just not
quite as dramatic yet and they also have a lot more rooms to fill. Resort fees are a joke and the fact that they will not comp them for
a platinum player is almost enough for me to play and stay elsewhere.
