NYE dining advice

I am staying at the Cosmo NYE but would like to dine somewhere outside the strip area. I had reservation at Milo's but $400 for dinner seems a little too steep. I would like to dine around 8 pm and return to the Cosmo around 10 pm. I am not seeking dinner suggestions as much as I am curious about the cab situation. Will I have a problem getting back to the Cosmo at that hour considering that the strip will be closed?
If I were you, I would order room service, sit back and enjoy the view from Cosmo.
Yes, you'll have trouble getting a cab back unless you have a cab drop you off a few blocks away from the strip -- like maybe Ellis Island -- and you walk the rest of the way but I think by 10 it'll be crazy.

Last NYE I stayed at Caesars and went to the Stevie Wonder concert at Cosmo. I wanted to eat at Milos and didn't have a reservation but there was a space at the bar and you could order appetizers or an entree at the bar. I ordered a drink and a sample of appetizers and the bill was about $150, including tip. I was dining alone and had a great time because folks on both sides of me at the bar were conversant as was the bar tender. If you are dining alone, Í'd try the Cosmo bar, maybe even if you are with someone, or grab a meal elsewhere on the strip if not at Cosmo. If not dining at Cosmo but on the strip, I'd make it an earlier dinner so you are not fighting the crowds as much getting back to your hotel.
Cosmo can be accesses on the west side by taking Dean Martin (an extension of Industrial Rd.) to Jerry Lewis (by Panorama Towers) then over the bridge to Cosmo. Most casinos have rear or back entrances so that they can be accessed even when the strip is closed. If you dine on the west side of the strip, you should not have too much of a problem returning to Cosmo.

You can also access Cosmo by taking Tropicana to Polaris (by Wild Wild West), north on Polaris to Harmon and right on Harmon to Cosmo. There are many fine restaurants on the West side of town including Flemmings Steak House and Roys Hawaiian Fusion on Charleston as well as T-Bones at Red Rock.
