Obama in Vgeas - Anybody Go?

I'm going to see him in Iowa City on Friday. It seems to require more work to go see him these days because you have to go out and stand in line to get a free ticket to see him a couple of days ahead of time. Then stand in line for the actual event. Which reminds me that I was going to try and watch some of the Demo Convention on t. V. This week.

Yeah..except the president never said anything remotely to that affect.
But lets not get political.

SO Everybody else and news media covering this in 2008 were all wrong? Wow, good to know.

Your definition of "Everybody else and news media" = Sean Hannity. And, yes, he was wrong.

The actual quote from the president who was responding to Wall Street Bankers paying themselves bonuses with TARP money..
“We’re going to do something to strengthen the banking system," Mr. Obama said, “You are not going to be able to give out these big bonuses until you pay taxpayers back. You can’t get corporate jets. You can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers’ dime. There’s got to be some accountability and some responsibility.”

...or in other words..."I hate Las Vegas and nobody should go there ever !"

SO Vegas caused an uproar cause of Sean Hannity? I don't think so. He was talking about people "avoiding las vegas as a vacation destination. Nothing Sean Hannity stated.
So PJ it is okay for the GSA to spend our tax dollars and piss it away. In vegas reflects nicely on commander in chief.
Good leadership!

Might as well give it up, pj - rdpeckerwood obviously doesn't want the truth. Here's what Obama actually said about responsibility, warning families against gambling away college tuition.
"You don't blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you're trying to save for college."
Of course Hannity and the other goons at Faux News freaked out......
Obama later clarified to the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce in February 2010, "Let me set the record straight: I love Vegas...There you go. Always have. I love Vegas."
Let me set the record straight- a politician will say anything to get elected. I say let the record of a term speak for itself.

Yes, it is! Of course, if you disagree then you would be equally offended by every Republican president you've voted for that did the same exact thing...and you are not...so spare me your faux outrage.

Please show me the part of the president's quote where he demagogues Las Vegas. Better yet tell me what part of the quote you disagree with.
This thread really should be in the Kitchen sink.............
If this President would just once say he is somewhat responsibile for the trouble the counrty is in today I may just listen to the rest of what he is saying. Another four years is requesting at that rate we will all be talking to ourselves saying why did we let this happen. What changes has really taken place the first 4 years and what can we look for in the second term. Hopefully the debates will focus on the problems at hand and not trying to point all the bad things out about each other. Granted Romney is not the biggest prize we could have hoped for in this election. First time I can ever remember saying that I'm really not interested in voting in a National election. I'm sure I'm not alone.
