I'm arriving the first week of October. I booked 6 months ago and thought I'd be able to re-book later when prices dropped. That has not happened and I'm glad I locked in early. What's going on from 10-7 to 10-15? It's not a Raiders game.

You don't even get a break from the crowds when you visit during the inferno months any more. Nor do you get any real bargains.
Of course, the above is simply The Hell With Vegas Reason #112.

So stop whining & don't go.
We went in August for 4 nights & paid less than $100 for the hotels. We just got back from 4 nights at 3 different places & paid a total of $35

Yet he goes quite often. So odd to complain about it this much and yet go.

Don't be an ass. The only reason I've come to Vegas the last few months was to take advantage of offers that would have expired. It sounds like you did the EXACT SAME THING, and you wouldn't have been any more enthusiastic about rushing into town and paying the normal high rates than I was.
So stop whining.

Well, allow me to address your cognitive deficits--I've come to Vegas to take advantage of offers that would have expired. Vegas has also been a 2-3 day stop on the way from one destination to another.
But as an out-of-the-blue vacation destination? Vegas absolutely, positively sucks right now, and I would recommend that people choose almost anywhere else. But if they have usable offers, that MIGHT make a trip worthwhile. MIGHT. You get a good room rate but everything's expensive and the service stinks, that's still no batrgain.
I hasten to add that I expect bargains to sprout up like mushrooms after a spring rain in 6-12 months' time, as jonesing visitors who got royally rogered during the recent gougedest don't come back All the more reason to spend my next vacay somewhere else for now.
