October Trip Question

OK, we are heading out for a week in October starting October 16th. We try to get outside once and awhile so I was trying to think about Valley of Fire Sate park or Mt. Charleston. Anyone have any ideas either way? Thanks in advance!
Red Rock Canyon
Mt. Charleston. They have trails you can hike and you can eat lunch at the Lodge. Beautiful views of the mountain right in front of you. Bonus is if you get there early enough in October, they have hummingbird feeders all around the deck and you can watch the hummingbirds come and go.

We go every time we go to Las Vegas. Do a hike and then eat and just enjoy the beauty and quiet around us!
Your not supposed to eat the Hummingbirds.

But they are so darn good!
Valley of Fire is waaay out there. If you haven't been to Red Rock Canyon, I would go there.
i made a day trip once to the zion NP. It was interesting. red rock is much easier. hell, you dont even have to leave the car! Good Luck!
We have been to Red Rock many times and really enjoy it. We usually take the drive when we go to Red Rock but we want to try some places we have never been to. Thanks for all the suggestions!
Valley of Fire is several times the size of Red Rock and so many more great scenes. Take your own lunch and water, as there is not much around.
