Passover 2012 In Las Vegas

Hi Group,

For anyone interested in spending Passover in Las Vegas (which this year runs from April 6th-15th, 2012), this is what I am finding (by seeing ads) so far:

Stay at Loews (Lake Las Vegas) Resort And Spa in Henderson. The ad says that this is an Award Winning Property.

There's an Early Bird 18th Year Anniversary Special if you reserve before January 15, 2012 (this ad only arrived to me yesterday [1/11/2012]).

The ad says "Starting At $5,500 Per Room With The First 50 Children Under 12 (Who Stay In The Same Room As Their Parents) Free."

The food is under the strictest Orthodox Rabbinic Supervision!

To check this out, go online to: https://www.mypassover.com or call 323-525-0015 or 800-225-0035.

As I get more information, I'll continue to post it here.

Hi Group,

I'm quite sure that Chabad of Southern Nevada (at least Chabad of Las Vegas)and probably other Synagogues in the area will be having Passover Seders (Sedarim) on the First and/or Second nights of the holiday. When I find out what's what, I'll post it here.

Am I reading that correctly - Earlybird is $5,500.00 for 9 nights? That must be some resort!

I prefer spending Chanukah in Las Vegas because of the miracle where the money that I should burn through in one day actually lasts eight days!

That price is per room and not per person and it includes all food and drink (since that stuff has more restricted rules for Passover) plus all activities which do include daily religious services (as well as other stuff which I'll list a little later when I have my hands once again on the ad that I saw about this).

Thanks for clarifying that - sounds like reasonable value - I thought that it was just for the room

Now that I once again have the ad in front of me (I'm seeing it in a Jewish Magazine called "The Southern California Community Links"), it says that at least this starting price (which I guess would be for at least 2 Adults (and where the first 50 children who are registered in and who are under the age of 12 are let in for Free) and it includes:

- Top Name Entertainment;

- Inspiring Lectures and Shiurim (Lessons);

- Ashkenaz (Eastern European) and Sephardic (Western European) Minyanim (Daily Religious Prayer Services);

- State Of The Art Fitness Center And Spa;

- Outstanding Toddler Camp, Day Camp And Teen Programs;

- Gourmet Glatt Kosher Cuisine, Lavish Tea Rooms And Poolside Barbeques;

- Pools, Championship Golf, Tennis, Lakes And A Vast Array Of Water Activities;

- And Much More.

This company is also offering the same program at Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs, California but since this is a Las Vegas board, I thought that I would help inform any members who might be interested in that kind of thing to get completely away for all of Passover and not have to deal with all of the cooking, cleaning and dietary restrictions that go on during Passover.

And I will try to do what I can to find out if any Synagogues or Temples are holding the Passover Seder Meal and when and where they are being held.

Can you actually stuff 50 children into one of those Loews Resort And Spa rooms? Excellent.
Hi Group,

Sorry that I have not gotten back to you sooner about this, but here is the lowdown of what I have found about Synagogues/Temples and elsewhere offering Passover Seders (most are only this Friday night, April 6, but Chabad Of Southern Nevada are offering Seders both on Friday Night and on Saturday night.

I'm sure that reservations are required everywhere and space may very well be limited.

So here goes the information:

01). Chabad Of Southern Nevada (which has several locations around Las Vegas) is offering Seders on both Friday night and Saturday night (4/6 and 4/7/2012) at 8PM.

Cost is $50 Per Adult and $25 Per Kid.

More information can be found by going online to https://www.chabadlv.org ;

02). Temple Sinai (Reform) has the Seder at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 6. Cost for Non-Members is $75 Per Adult and $55 Each Per Child.

For more information call 702-254-5110 or go online to https://www.templesinailv.org . Offering A Family Program as well as a Temple Program;

03). The Jewish Family Service Agency is having a Community Seder on Friday, April 6th. The Cost listed is $10 (and says that it's optional). For more information on this, call 702-732-0364;

and 04). More information about Seders around Nevada can be found by going online to https://www.jewishfederations.org/page.aspx?id=6 .

Enjoy!
