In my other life, I am the TV critic of the Philadelphia Inquirer. For a couple of years, "Pawn Stars" was the most popular series on all of cable TV, with more than 5 million a week watching regularly. So it has a warm spot in people's hearts.
And that is because of the characters on the show. They are rarely at the pawn shop anymore, so visitors mostly just get to see the place and maybe buy a cool Chumley T-shirt, like I did. (I also bought my wife a nice black pearl necklace at a decent price.)
There was no line whatsoever when I went there on a hot summer afternoon. For those of you who have an interest in going inside, I would say it's worth about a 20-person, no more. Going early or late might be the play, since the characters are rarely there at anytime.
