Planning Solo Trip - Where?

I am planning a solo trip to Las Vegas for three nights of just solid VP gambling in June. For this trip I have decided to stay away from Harrahs (Diamond Member) and MGM (Platinum Member) and stay where I can find the best VP possible. I am thinking of staying at Sam's Town where I can take the shuttle downtown to play at Main Street Station or vice versa. Does anyone know of any other casinos I should seriously consider instead? From what I can tell, playing at .25 and .50 level Sam's Town has some excellent VP and some sister properties that give me an opportunity to get out and play at some other casinos. I hate spending all of my time in just one casino. I am also hoping to get established with a new casino and understand B Connected has been fairly good although I do not have any personal experience with it. I plan on renting a car so getting around will not be much of a problem. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
Green Valley Ranch or any of the other Station Casinos.

Your plan sounds like a good one. The California uses the same club as MSS and they have some good VP progressives in there. The only problem I have with those places is that many of the machines are older with buttons that stick or the machines just deal slowly.

I like the M-Resort because their machines are new with big buttons and fast deals so you can really get into a zone and play fast.
Four Queens could be something too since they have not bad VP and a not bad Slot Club as well!

If you're looking for VP, you can go locals or downtown. I've long been a locals casino guy, but stayed downtown also last summer. For a solo trip I think I would say, go downtown. You've got a fair amount of good VP at a number of casinos, rates are good and food is too. You mentioned shuttles and DT you can be at the next casino in a couple of minutes. I love South Point, but I have a car and enjoy running around (not to mention golf). If you're not renting a car, I'd stay downtown.

Good Luck!

I keep thinking downtown for no reason other than a handful of casinos within walking distance. I think I will be staying at MSS or possibly Golden Nugget (I don't mind paying the room and I am going during week so the rates are low). I certainly don't want to stay in a grind hotel so I don't mind paying to ensure I have a nice room. Does anyone know if the 4 Queens rooms are nice? MSS? Any other downtown casinos that have nice rooms or particular rooms I should request? Again, I don't mind paying for them for this trip, but I don't need a suite either.

Golden Nugget has the nicest rooms downtown hands down. 4-Queens, El Cortez Tower, MSS are all very nice but a step down from Golden Nugget. You can frequently grab a 4-Queens suite for under $100 on Expedia during the week which will get you a jaccuzzi, wet bar, and a little more space.

I'd look into staying at the El Cortez if you are a paid member or have access to a ACG two for one. Only place downtown I play VP is the Eour Queens on the quarter level.
Downtown is very convenient for good VP. California, MSS, 4 Queens, El Cortez, Vegas Club all have some sort of full pay and are all within walking distance from each other. Downtown is great for getting a decent meal by yourself. I always get a rent car also but put it up in the evening so I can enjoy a libation. That is when the walking distances come in handy.
I am out there six times solo every year and you can play it two ways!

I stay at the LVH because I am Hilton diamond and the amenities with that are tremendous.....they have good VP there. I don't play there much though...the Sam's Town MSS thought is solid but let me throw this at you.....if you are all about VP go Gold Coast or Orleans....GC for the 9/6 Job and Orlleans for the FP VP at Bonus Poker for the levels you described.

You are way better off staying at those properties Gold Coast for Sure with Palm's right across the street....let me know and I will hook you up with a great host...you can play good VP and he takes care of the food...great property!
