Freemont Street is part of our Limo "Lights and Sights" tour. The people that I bring down there love the carnival atmosphere and for out-of-town people, taking pictures with Elvis, Spongebob, Kiss, Michael Jackson, etc. is a blast. Between the street performers, the zip-line and the numerous bandstands with different groups performing it makes for a fun and exciting evening. It is a much more worthwhile trip than when the only attraction was the light show.
While "bothered" by it, people ignore the porn-slappers on the strip and if they suddenly appear downtown, I think that the same thing would happen. The trash on the ground from the fliers is another story though.
P.S. - You can see street performers (celebrity-costumed individuals) in front of the Bellagio and Paris now also.
