Question for traveling diabetics

My upcoming trip to Vegas will be the first since being diagnosed as diabetic. I am no longer having to give myself shots but still need to check my blood sugar count once a day. So my question is: does the TSA let you carry the lancets in your carryon luggage or do they consider those as dangerous? I really don't want to put them in checked luggage in case it is lost. I won't be carrying any liquid meds, just pills.

Thanks, Janice
I've never had any problems with them in my carry-on.
I Fly Jet Blue and Delta, and I have Never had a Problem with the Lancets in My Carry On, I also suggest getting a Known Travel # which speeds up Security by going thru the TSA Pre check line
Do I need to show them all of my prescriptions? I plan on keeping it all in their original prescription containers and putting it all in a zip lock bag.

I've never had to, and when I was first diagnosed, I didn't have a prescription for them anyway...I bought the lancets over the counter.
Most people fly with medications in their purse or carry-ons.
TSA doesn't inspect meds unless maybe something liquid exceeds the oz. limit.

Please don't take this wrongly, but I had to chuckle at the thought of terrorists trying to hijack a plane using finger stick lancets.

Have a wonderful trip!
Yes, it would take a terrorist an awfully long time to disable someone with the lancets. When I check the TSA site it said to tell the agents that you have prescriptions in your carry-on so they can check it so that is why I was asking if they really do check that.

It is not the lancets that is the problem I never had them question that sometimes it can be snacks. I had a small jar of peanut butter and some crackers and they tossed the PB.

I had the same concern when I first flew with lancets.

They don't care about your prescription medications, unless something is liquid and larger than the 3 oz. or whatever limit.

I pack my pills in those plastic "planners", the ones with S-M-T-W-T-F-S, and carry those in my purse/carry on bag. Or you can leave them in your prescription bottles.

Silly what they do get in a twist about. They tossed my husband's can of shave gel, yet his container of Miralax (much more than 3 oz.) was OK, since it was in powder form. That made no sense, but at least we didn't have to buy more Miralax.
