What are they changing the casino's name to? I would expect them to change the name of the players' club to reflect that.
I for one vote for them to change the casino's name to: "That Place That Was Built on the Border of Summerlin to Bleed All the Newly Arrived McMansion Owners But Nobody Goes There Anymore Because We Removed Every Reason to Do So Casino and Car Wash," but I'm not sure if they still have the car wash.
If I remember correctly they are going back to the original name of The Resort at Summerlin. I think the rewards program they have now is pretty good for locals, but tough for tourists, as it rolls over every quarter, and if don;t stay current you don't get the goodies. It will also be interesting to see if they change the name of the section of Fort Apache that is now called Rampart or if they keep it the way it is.

The process of street naming/renaming drags out for a long time, and cities are reluctant to change street names because anyone on that street has to modify their address and notify thirty billion different people and companies of the change.
That said, I wonder if whoever named Fort Apache back in the day when Summerlin was just a gleam in Howard Hughes' eye was aware that there already was a section of town that was nicknamed "Fort Apache," and not in a complimentary way. It's the part of town in the shadow of Bob Stupak's Substitute Penis and for decades, has been a place you don't want to walk through, even in broad daylight. Also, I think of the setting, history, and environment of the actual Fort Apache and wonder why anyone would give that name to a street that was in Nouveau Riche Land.
The primary sales pitch when they created Summerlin was that it was NOT going to be Vegas and as a self-sufficient community, you would never have to go to Filthy Casino Land anyway. So developers built two casinos 100 yards away from Summerlin's border. 😄😄😄😄😄

Considering that section/road was named Rampart before the casino was built, I can't imagine them changing the name of the area just because the casino which used to be named after it, changed its name.
