recommendation for a couple age 62/63

I have been asked to recommned a Hotel on the strip for a couple age 62 and 63.
They are not serious gamblers, not looking for comps, and have never set foot in a gym or exercise room.
They live in a 55 and over community and really like being around people closer to their age.

They will not have a car. They will do some walking, but half a mile is probably the limit.

Buffets are a definite priority. The 24 hour pass was exciting to them. So was the 24 hour entertainment pass. They have budgeted $1,500 each for gambling. They like 25cent slots, $5 craps .
They are cash customers so they don't have to play where they stay.
Also planning on some time by the pool each day , late afternoon, maybe a spa treatment.

Looking at arriving Thursday, leaving Monday. late June.

5 years ago they stayed at Monte Carlo and hated it. Three years ago they stayed at Bellagio, Salone Suite and loved it. This time a basic room would be enough, but they are willing to spend the money for something nicer ( Wynn prices did not scare them) although they are fine with a return to Bellagio.

What do you recommend?
We like

Paris Red Room - I don't know if any of these face the Bellagio fountains - in several stays, ours have not
Paris Red Room Premium - larger, nicer than regular Red - same comment about facing Bellagio
Harrah's suites (any level) in Carnival Tower, away from the Carnival Court noise (if still active)
Caesars Palace Tower Premium (if the very long walk to and from casino to tower isn't a problem) - his & hers bathrooms with shared shower between the them
Caesars Palace Augustus Tower (if the long walk is a problem, but just 1 bath) with view of Bellagio fountains

While most 62-63 year olds are perfectly spry, you may want to avoid:

Venetian - most rooms have 3 wood steps going down to the living room area
Bill's - Has stairs or a steep ramp going in and out of the casino
Sunset Station - Long walk to hotel elevator and beds are too high
Planet Hollywood - noisy, confusing, annoying casino

Other comments:
We thought the Flamingo GO rooms looked like the walls had been painted over about 50 times - decor is white and hot pink
Both Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch are REALLY, REALLY nice, and have shuttles to the strip and airport; slight edge to Red Rock for the views from the rooms
Sam's Town is definitely worth a visit for the exquisite treed and waterfall atrium (and show), and variety of machines, mostly slant-tops; shuttle from Harrah's
I haven't stayed at an MGM property in years because of the resort fee (is it waived on a comp or not??? Who knows... )
We did the Buffet of Buffets and we were very glad we did

My parents are in early 70's and have only stay at Paris for years..Love the size and not to young of a crowd, close to everything and buffet good.
They could try a Gold VIP room at the Golden Nugget downtown. Its an older crowd with gorgeous rooms and plenty of gambling within their low-limit parameters nearby. Not many good buffets within walking distance, however.

Strip properties that attract an older crowd would be: Bellagio, Flamingo, Riviera, Tropicana and the Mirage. An upgraded room at the Mirage would be my choice due to location, price, and mellow atmosphere.

Very interesting recomendation. Paris red room was not on my radar screen.
Price wise it is similar to a basic room at Bellagio.

Anyone have any comments/ thoughts comparing these two.

BTW: I have told them 1)the Wynn was really over the top for their purposes,
2) they should stay mid strip, but take the bus downtown to play, at least once.

I like Paris as well and don't think you can go wrong with the newly remodeled red rooms. I would also take a look and Bally's they are connected and the North tower is updated. the amenities from both properties are still close but far cheaper rooms at Bally's.
I'd stay WYNN.
I like the Wynn as well because it is such a beautiful hotel and the service is top notch but I come down to Ceasars Palace, for the following reasons, a number of which have been noted already:

Center strip. It'll be hot in June but mid-strip they can get to 10+ hotels/casinos within a half-mile walk and there's also lots of bus stops at various points for getting downtown. And if they wanted to try Gold Coast, Palms or Orleans, or Rio the shuttle next to Bill's is not too far. For a completely different experience that's also close by, they can take the Flamingo bus to Tuscany or Terrible's.

They like buffets and if they want variety without having to walk far, then the buffet pass makes sense and they could try Harrah's, Planet Ho and/or Paris. For old time's sake, they can walk over the bridge to Bellagio and try that buffet again (I'm assuming they enjoyed it before!). I wouldn't pay the premium but at some of the CET buffets there's also the extra option to pay a bit more to jump to the beginning of the line if you're not Diamond. It may be worth it to them to have that option and not have to wait in what would otherwise be a long buffet line at a non-CET property.

The Ceasars pools are wonderful and there's a good variety of experiences. You said they wanted to lounge a bit and so I put a premium on the quality of the pool (s).

Pretty much all of the Ceasars rooms are great though they have their pros and cons.

Qua of course is spectactular and is far superior IMO to the other CET spas. They could stay elsewhere and walk to Qua but I find it far more relaxing to go to and from the spa from my hotel room in the same hotel.

As they want to do shows and the All Stage pass is appealing, that's another advantage for a center strip location and where walking is key as waiting for cabs or a bus while you are trying to do 2-3 shows in a day would be a pain.

The gambling at Ceasars isn't great but it sounds like they will be spending a fair amount on other things. I believe with the new program if they charge the extras like the passes, spa treatments, etc. to the room they can earn TR points. That plus a portion of the $3k in gambling between them probably means some decent comp offers in the future, maybe not for Caesars but for some other CET properties if they wish to come back to Vegas soon.

You didn't mention shopping but within a half mile you'd have the Forum Shops, the shops in the Bellagio, and the shops in the Aria/Cosmo complex.
Yes, the Wynn is nice and while I am not sure what there habits are they may want to try the Flamingo. They do cater to an older crowd.

Something worth checking out.
Being in my 60's, I would recommend the Flamingo. It is center strip, and has rooms from the mid to higher range. They can catch the monorail at Bally's or Harrah's and there are several free shuttles to other places downtown or off the strip. Off strip there will be more people their own age.

Also mid strip gives you access to so many other things to see/do i.e. Bellegio gardens, the volcano, pirate show, Madame Tusseau's, shopping at Ceasars, Miracle Mile, Fashion show mall, Eiffel Tower etc. There is also a wide selection of eateries for all tastes.
