Rip Off "Resort Fees"

Hey Dan, I am aware of these fees. My solution(s).-- (1)- Bag fees - I only fly Southwest (no bag fees for first 2 bags), (2)- No seat assignment fees,(yet), -  (3) I don't eat with 6 people, therefore no asinine  18% "service fee",(4) I never go to concerts.- 5) I never have bought a new car and I pay cash when I buy a car - no prep fee for me, (6) I never order any to-go item that requires a fee, (7) I use Amazon Prime (no shipping/handling fee). As you can see, I don't patronize and don't get ripped off from any vender that charges a frivious, asinine "fee" for their product or service.

When you talk about yourself rather than the topic, you invite assessments about you rather than the topic.

"I" "I" "I" and "me" "me" "me" naturally generate responses about "you".

Oh stop. When I say "I", I am telling you what I do and why. There is no "invitation" stated, I just post facts as they apply to me. Save your personal opinion of what I say and try to stay on topic without making it personal. Once again (for clarity) - you do what you want to do and I will do as I want. My posts are about content - not a contest or a debate.

I find the parking fees to be more intrusive than the resort fees...especially for guests staying at the hotel.

Gamblers should be able to valdidate parking at the pit or from a slot attendant.

Sure seems like some point people will collectively say "enough is enough" with all the gouging in Vegas and vote with their feet.

I dont spend much time on the strip or downtown anymore.  Thats my new policy until if/when things become sane again.

Totally agree about the parking, PJ.  I don't go on the strip if I can help it and don't venture downtown except to do an LVA coupon run.

Yes, I agree on the parking fees.  I always have a car and I stay on Fremont, but do like to do some things on the strip, but after the last ~$24 parking fee and a loss at MGM in just around 1.5 hours, I just don't have any desire to go fill their coffers if they're going to make it expensive just to walk on the property.  It's very like paying a fee to play which is disgusting considering their dreadful odds on nearly every game.

I must've missed those. What I saw was this:

Agreed. Particularly for hotel guests.

But I am at least somewhat sympathetic to parking fees for non-guests. Those casinos are amazing tourist attractions. Ones that can be enjoyed for free, if desired. Perhaps a parking fee can be justified in some circumstances.

The strip long ago stopped being solely a gambling destination.

Agree we go to off strip casinos and get treated better and save $ for our gambling

Truer words were never spoken.  The downtown and locals casinos treat customers so much better than the on the strip joints.

The overwhelming majority of downtown casinos impose both parking and resort fees.
