Rip Off "Resort Fees"

Interesting,  the two off strip casinos I stay at don't charge resort fees for comped rooms.  I have not paid for a room, or resort fee in at least 15 years.  Also,  I haven't stayed downtown, and when we drive downtown we get the parking validated.

So I am definitely in the minority when it comes paying resort fees and parking.

But,  yeah most of what you posted is true.

Actually, the Four Queens imposes neither; Binion's imposes neither; Plaza is free parking with validation; Boyd casinos will validate your ticket if you spend $20-25; most other downtown casinos will validate if you gamble for an hour, even at minimum stakes; Downtown Grand will validate your ticket if you buy in to slots or tables for $25, or spend that much in a restaurant.

Resort fees downtown are lower than on the Strip, averaging about $20 while Strip resort fees are soaring above $45. Locals' casinos impose $15-20.

Locals' casinos always have free outside parking, even if their garages have a charge. And there's always plenty of that free parking. Strip casinos rarely have that, and no downtown casinos do.

Downtown is the best deal for avoiding resort fees and/or parking fees. Locals' casinos are best for avoiding parking fees. Strip casinos are best for avoiding leaving with any money left in your pocket.

Every casino will waive every expense imaginable in the right circumstances.

Doesn't change these facts:

The overwhelming majority of downtown casinos impose both parking and resort fees.

The overwhelming majority of locals casinos impose resort fees.

Call it an "overwhelming majority" if you want. Somehow, though, I always manage to avoid both parking and resort fees when I stay downtown, whelmed though I may be.

Thank you.

I will.

Because it is.

Overwhelming for whoever is unable to locate the two places with no resort fees, the place with an LVA coupon waiving the resort fee, the three places with free parking, or the five places that give free parking if you spend a nominal amount inside.

For the rest of us, just whelming.

Oh my.

You misunderstand the English language.

No worries.

Reading comprehension varies.

When people write phrases like "The overwhelming majority of downtown casinos" and "The overwhelming majority of locals casinos", they're not describing a quantity of people.

They're describing groups of casinos.

That's the function of that noun "casinos" at the end of those two phrases.

Here again are two truths for you to shirk acknowledging, in boldface AND italics this time:

The overwhelming majority of downtown casinos impose both parking and resort fees.

The overwhelming majority of locals casinos impose resort fees.

A false statement, repeated three times in bold italic letters, is still false. But people can believe you and give up on trying to find hotels with free parking and no resort fee.

I agree 100% with your bold letter statements - they are factual and true. There are casinos that do not charge parking and resort fees, -  these casinos can be found in the Advisor under the Visit collum on the left side of the Advisor pull down listing columns.
