Silver Sevens just cant quit me

I've never really liked SIlver Sevens after they stopped being Teribbles.   Pretty bad when "Terrible" is better than anything.     I just signed up for the players club so I could use the occassional coupon from the MRB/ACG books.   Never more than a hit-n-run place for me.

Despite this - I literally get a marketing email from Silver Sevens EVERY SINGLE DAY.    Sometimes more than one in a day.    I hit the "unsubscribe" link and I think that just accelerates the emails to come even more frequently.    I've tried that approach for a month now.  Now, I've finally just decided to  filter them out with my email.....

I guess it doesnt cost anything to send Marketing/Promotional emails out to a zillion people so why not?  But at some point its got to be counterproductive.   Kinda just makes me not even want to hit-n-run that place anymore.

You think that's bad?  After the first (and only) visit to our one casino in the state (other than the two race tracks), I get AT LEAST one large glossy post-card type from them a day.  Sometimes two a day.  I shred all mail that has my name and addresss.  I rip it up and shred the portion with my information.  Annoying.  Hitting the delete button would be easier.

I have a junk email destination account (at the junkiest email provider, Yahoo) and give that address to all the casino slot clubs. I even went so far, back in the days of actual physical mail, as to rent a PO box in Vegas just so I could be a "local" for the purpose of promotions (and boy, was it worth it).

I think PJ's solution is best, to set up some kind of filter. The only trouble with that is that you might miss something that's actually worthwhile. That's why I go ahead and look at the sludge. But yeah, there are several casinos that send me emails on a daily basis. I guess it's, as PJ says, cost-effective advertising.

I receive both regular mail and e-mails. I always check my spam folder and have found 2 or 3 offers that I utilized. To each their own...

Yeah, but at least the snail-mail gives the post office some business   =)    I have a casino in Memphis that sends me postal offerings every day.    Pretty sure they are putting a big dent in the Amazon Rain Forrest with all that.

I used to like it as Terribles, but the current incarnation is dirty.  There are better places to go

This is a bit off-topic, but last March I had to go to Silver Sevens to empty my William Hill account before returning home. We were staying on the strip and heading to the airport about noon, and that was the closest one open on a Monday morning.

Anyway, I hadn't been through there in maybe five years, and I was surprised at how dingy and crappy it looked, even at 10 am. Reminded me of the latter days of the Las vegas Club.

It always looked pretty terrible when it was Terrible's, and before that when it was the...Continental? It was obviously being run on the ultra-cheap. I remember the food as being surprisingly bad.

One thing killed them more than anything else IMHO. They were and are a locals' casino, so they always depended on promotions to get people in the door. And they developed a nasty habit of reneging on those promotions. They'd cancel them without notice, sometimes in the middle of the day, or change the eligibility rules without warning. Doesn't take much of that shit to make people storm away, never to return.
