was it actually possible to get around before the internet brought travel deals instantly to your desk? I no longer have to peek at fares at work, as a version of hi-speed is in my home and a sorta-smart phone in my pocket. So, not overly bummed, but restive, I'm cruisin' for a fare and I see airtran drops price, and I suss I can get to LV for 139 and tax. But not back for 139. Then I see if delta went for the match and they did! I only miss one day of work, have 3 nights in another dubious quality joint (since my riviera stay last month worked out so well- $ wise), and hertz insists on renting me a car for less rental fee than the tax/horseshit that gets added. Now, here's my problem; I enjoy the days to weeks of agonizing over how to wring the last drop of cost out of any trip I take alone. I'm already at diddly squat! Is there any hope for me? signed; cant wait until tomorrow....
