So where ya gonna go instead?

If you had a trip to Vegas planned, but you've had to cancel or you're canceling because you're expecting the town to remain shut down (the April 30 ban will be extended), my question is: where else will you go? Or will you just say the hell with it and do a staycation?

Personally, I plan to go camping in Yellowstone during the two weeks when I was going to be in town for the WSOP, which is NOT going to happen. I've assumed that the coronavirus won't affect one's ability to visit the park--after all, there aren't large gatherings there, and people are generally fairly spread out.

However, that might be shut down, too. I was planning to continue north and revisit Banff and Jasper--haven't been there for 20 years--when I found out that Parks Canada is closing all parks until at least April 30. Then I heard about the travel ban!

I'm going for a walk in the park. I've sharpened one end of my selfie stick so I can keep anyone I encounter six feet away from me.

You won't need that stick - no one wants to get within 10 feet of you.

Have the decency to confine your stupid personal attacks to the Kitchen Sink. There are rules about what you can say in these parts of the forums. The Sink is specifically for crap like you just spewed.

Kevin, look out for Yogi Bear in Yellowstone...he could sniff out your picnic basket!  Or says the song.  LOL

I'd say your better off going overseas assuming you find someplace that will allow Americans to enter. For example, in parts of Asia, it is currently much safer than it is here.

GO?  Just stay in your house.

Maybe some wilderness camping. There may be NO humans around to infect you.

I found an interesting quote yesterday.

"Your personal hygene may save the life of a person that you will never meet".

I'm guessing (hoping) that by the end of April the virus has peaked and  theres enough testing and social awareness to allow the economy to get back to normal with heightend caution.

I've got New Mexico scheduled for early May.

Lucky my Vegas trip wasn't planned until late this year.  Hopefully its still there by then.

Vegas will still be there, but Randall Flagg will be running everything. (Apologies if you don't get the Stephen King reference.)

Does your trip to New Mexico have any gambling involved? They have a little different gaming regulations. You can not have a drink while you gamble, you must go to the “bar area” to drink. Pretty strange but that is the way it was 3 years ago when we visited.
