The Sphere

Would the people of Las Vegas be willing to accept that the sphere is going to have to be subsidized with taxpayer money because it is losing about 1/4 billion dollars each 3 months and the ceo says he has no ideas how to make it profitable. They will break it to the public that it will have to shut down during off season or at least part of the night and there will be an uproar. However it brings in alot of "intangibles" into the area and its the hottest draw going but only a few people that pay to go into shows help offset costs and it isnt working. If it was shut down there will be a public outcry and that is exactly how they will get it on the ballot for residents of the county to chip in at least something. Right now everyone enjoys everyone from residents to tourbuses and tourists but few actually pay--and sooner or later the light will come on--that taxpayers will have to pay. It will be like anything--they get you hooked and then start ever increasing payments like they did with everything from the internet to youtube.

But the Sphere provides a valuable service--it's something for people who don't even live in Vegas to whine about how much it costs to maintain!

When you lose your ass in Vegas, just toddle over to the Sphere and frown at it. It'll make you feel better.

More insulant stupidity from the resident troll Lewis.

Perhaps Oakland could persuade Sphere to move there.

Nice big concrete bowl on Hegenberger is for lease. Concessions, plenty of parking, could be a nice fit.
