The sphincter is loosening...maybe?

While the price of Vegas everything is still criminally high, I've recently gotten several pretty decent offers in the mail, after several months of dead silence. Those offers are fair-to-good by pre-gougefest standards.

This in and of itself doesn't mean much, and Vegas is still primed to rip off the incoming waves of suckers, er, tourists to the maximum extent possible. All reports are that service is still lousy and the Vegas experience is crap. But is it possible that the gouge mania has peaked?

What have you seen recently in terms of offers?

I am not seeing a loosening.

I just got my November - December offers from my favorite downtown casino,  Got 25% off of rooms, a free night and $20 voucher in free slot play.  Also 100 points get a $10 food credit, and 300 points will also get you $30 in free slot play.  (I am by NO means a high roller...obviously.)

If i remember correctly the September/October deal was also 25% off rooms but had Two free nights and $40 in free play. I don't remember any points promotion though.

Not too bad, but is less than the previous promotion.  One more fly in the ointment, Travel to the USA from some overseas countries apparantly will become easier and less restrictive in November as far as Covid testing and quarantine.  The article below was in the news several days ago and this new policy would replace the "blanket" bans that are in effect now. .

The United States plans to ease travel restrictions on all fully vaccinated foreign visitors starting in November, the White House said Monday, relaxing a patchwork of bans that had begun to cause fury in Europe and replacing them with more uniform requirements for inbound international air passengers.

The new rules will require all foreign nationals arriving in the United States to show proof of being fully vaccinated, the White House Covid-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients said. He said the new rules would take effect in early November, a timeline that will give agencies and airlines "time to prepare."

I would tend to believe that there is considerable pent up overseas demand which would bring in a new supply of victims for the hotels to gouge.  As long as there are willing suckers in the hopper, there is no incentive to give anything away.

Texas - I think you are refering to the Four Queens. The mailer for Nov. and Dec. includes the "regular" free associated with your level and additional comp dollars added to your account.

Earn 300 points to get $10 food comp AND $30 free play EACH DAY from 11/1 to 12/29. If you play 9/6 Jacks (plenty of them from $.25 to $1), it takes $2,400 coin-in to earn 300 points. This equates to 1.25% added to the return of the game. On the 9/6 Jacks your advantage is over 1% not even counting the food.

IMHO, the Nov & Dec mailer is far better than Oct & Nov. And the 4Q has no resort fee added to the cost of the rooms.

Is there any chance this will be offered to the general public, or is it just for recipients of the mailer?

What sort of action do you generally give them--type of games, stakes, etc.?

The only place I give any significant plAy is El Cortez.  I'll buy in for a couple grand at the craps table over the course of a week...and about 6k of coin in on machines.

I was referring to the Four Queens November / December promotion.  Unfortunately I did not save their September / October promotions as far as points, etc.  I do distinctly remember thta they were offering two free room nights and $40 in free place.  This was better than the current one free night and $20 in free play.

That said, the points could be much better in November/December, I just didn't save that mailer.  One thing common on both promotions is the 25% off on rooms.

Kevin - I am 99.9% sure the Four Queens promo offer will be available to all. Thay is how it has worked in the past.
