Two separate questions, one thread. Hope maybe for some help from locals on one or both.

1. Alcohol sales on NYE - Last year, they stopped selling alcohol by the bottle/six pack on the strip everywhere (ABC, CVS, etc) at 6:00 AM (ridiculously) on Dec 31. The year before, I think it was like 4 PM on December 31. Does anyone know what time the strip will actually stop selling this year 2013-2014? We are getting in on Dec. 31 without a car, staying on the strip, and like to get a six pack or two for the room on NYE to avoid the chaos of the strip. Knowing if we even have a chance or have to cab it / venture off strip just to stock up would be helpful.

2. Starbucks and promotions - I've had mixed success using coupons and even gift cards at Starbucks along the strip and in casinos. I was gifted a Starbucks tumbler this year that is good for free refills for the entire month of January. Does anyone know what locations on and around the strip would honor this promotion? None? Some? All? Hopeful that I'll be able to get my drinks when I'm out there without trouble, though I expect to get some static depending on the location.
