That didn't take long.
Condelences to his family....
I agree on the condolences. He was a moron for going out on the ledge to begin with, but it sounds like the actual fall was an accident.

Does it?

Police had been dealing with him as a suicidal man for nearly two hours before he fell.

I suppose its possible he was acting suicidal for two hours, then accidentally fell.

If a nonsuicidal person can accidentally fall from Cosmopolitan's balconies, they've got a serious problem to fix there.
Whether he jumped, slipped, fell, fainted, was wind blown, etc., he is dead. He is the one who placed himself on the ledge. I feel for those who cared for him.

He wasn't on a balcony.
Right -- it wasn't a balcony. And it does sound as if the actual fall was an accident. If he hadn't have lost his balance, it's possible the police could have talked him into coming back inside. We'll never know.

Thank you, I jumped to a conclusion.
If he had a life insurance policy that was less than 2 years old it will make for an interesting claim.
