Surge priceing without the surge

Be sure to ask what things cost before you buy

You know that bottle of Bud  you paid $8 for at the casino bar?  It might be $11 at the same exact  bar a few hours later.   Its called surge pricing.   Casinos like to do it when crowds get really big.

But now they are trying to do it in the wake of plummeting crowds.     In addition to being sleazy in any context - its especially desperate in this context.    The supply/demand thing works in their favor when there are big crowds.  Its the oppositte when crowds go down.   But I guess they think they can get away with it anyway?    I dont think they've read the 1000 articles talking about visitors sick of their gouging.

This is not going to end well.

I have the sickening feeling that there are enough idiot sheep Vegas visitors--even now--to support this gouge. How many times have you heard the "oh well, we're on vacation, what the hell" justification? And how many people will say, "God, I want a beer" and then turn it down when told that the price is $147 (or whatever it's going to be tomorrow)? Right, almost no one.

If the average Vegas visitor was smarter than a tree stump and had any monetary sense, the Great Gouge wouldn't have succeeded. But nine out of ten are blissfully ignorant suckers.
