SWA DRINK COUPONS

Not every value is worth being chased. Did you know that, in the time it takes to bend over and pick up a sidewalk penny, you're probably earning less than minimum wage?

Southwest's drink coupons now have the recipient's name printed on them. I would think that when you combine:

1. the price to buy such coupons in violation of Southwest policy;
   
2. the time and effort involved in finding someone who has such coupons for sale;
   
3. the risk that the person claiming to have such coupons for sale is actually planning to rip the buyer off; and
   
4. the prospect that the flight attendant will recognize the big fat guy redeeming the coupon isn't really named Jennifer Holloway.

it's just not worth it for a small discount on a crummy in-flight drink. And that's the sort of advice LVA is known for.

You didn't understand what I wrote above.

I just recieved 4 SWA free drink coupys and they don't say my name on them,
Outside of envelope says " Cheers to you, thanks for being a cardmember "
The 4 free coupons only say Southwest Credit cardmember, and expires 12-31-2012
No name at all on them !

a drink on SW is $5, if one can save $5, by acquiring a few coupons, free or bought...more power to ya.

Thanks for the update. I don't fly WN and so was going on information posted here and elsewhere saying they now print the recipient's name on their drink coupons and that they're nontransferrable.

If that's not the case, that changes my mind, these may well be worth pursuing, even if just barely.

I don't think anyone jumped on the original poster that badly. My point simply was that instead of looking all over the place for Southwest drink coupons that they simply go just a few hours without a drink.

I'm not much of a drinker these days, but even when I was, I never drank on the plane. I never understood why the moment some people get on a plane they need to suddenly start drinking.

Like I said in my original post, there's plenty of booze in Vegas.

I also highly doubt that traffic is down on this site because of posts like this, as there are very few where a poster gets "jumped on". I'd say the lower traffic has got to do with fewer people going to Vegas based on the economy, long time posters being tired of responding to the same questions year after year from the newbies (nothing wrong with them asking those questions, but I've responded to "What is FPDW?" about 100 times over the years and I'm not interested in posting to those questions anymore), and also that about a year or so a ago Anthony pissed off a number of long time, frequent posters, that no longer post here. Other Vegas forums I go to are very slow these days as well.

Mrs AlanLeroy is prone to anxiety from flying. A drink or two in-flight help her to cope....at least her fingernails don't usually puncture my skin after she's had a couple....I imagine it's 'medication' for quite a few anxious fliers.

quite true, not only does it help the nervous flyer but why not start your vacation at 30,000 feet, kick back and have a cold one.

I fly SW a lot to Vegas because I have a companion pass for my wife. I have the personal and business credit card and I have never been sent any drink coupons

If anyone has some I will trade you some Delta drink chits that expire the end of the year....I get 10-20 a year from them.
