A taste of Frankies Tiki Room

I decided to bring a taste of Vegas to Indianapolis.

Frankie's Tiki Room website offers up receipes for some of their more popular drinks.    I made my personal favorite...the Kahiki Kai.    Its basically a slightly more fancy version of a pina colada.

More recipes can be found here

Once I burn through all the booze for these I'm going to try the Drunk Monk.

Cool place with great drinks.

Thanks for recipes!

Gorgeous/yummy looking!

Reminds me of my favorite they served at Trader Vic's in St. Louis, the Kamaina.  Coco Lopez, Cointreau, gin, 7-Up, something else, marachino cherry and pineapple for garnish.  Served in a ceramic cocoanut mug.  You got to keep the mug and I had a collection of them, still have a couple,

I bought the book, Trader Vic's Drink Book.  Full of their recipes served back in the day, including the Kamaina.  (The Trader Vic's in Las Vegas had similar offerings and overall we liked it, but not close to the same.  And it didn't last that long.  Wasn't managed well, IMO.)

Unfortunately I loaned it to the manager at PF Chang's.  He was fascinated and promised to return it to me.  Guess what...he is gone, move on somewhere...no book.  Never loan a book.
