Tax Refund Check get you anything?

I remember a couple of years ago some casino's ran promotions if you cashed your tax refund check there. Like cash your check, get a couple of buffets, free play, etc.

Haven't heard much this year. Leave tomorrow, have the state return in hand.

A word of caution on check cashing promotions. Several years ago we went to El Cortez to cash our Tax Refund. Cage had my wife and I both sign it and then called over a suit who said "We aren't a bank." We had previously stayed and played at El Cortez so had our player's cards and also drivers licenses and military ID's. I pointed out there promo and the suit repeated "No. we aren't a bank.". Ending up leaving without cashing the check and finally ended up going to Gold Coast and had to re-sign the check there since they had not witnessed the original signature.

Ouch. FWIW -we cashed our IRS check last year @ El Cortez and received the free play without a problem. I will make sure to confirm the promotion before I endorse the check.

I just cashed my refund at El Cortez last week and got $50 in free play. NO comments, no hassles, very easy and simple. Did the same thing last year with the same result. It is a great promotion that makes perfect sense. Every casino should do this, and everyone should take advantage of this, with good video poker play this is an easy profit.

We stayed at the Cannery for the first weekend of the NCAA BB tournament. I printed out a copy of my checking account statement showing the direct deposit of my tax refund. I received the free play with no hassle.
