Three Months of INTENSE Planning, and Still . . .

Well FFlowers, have a great, safe, fun, and extremely profitable trip and a great birthday as well!

I might next come to LV in 3 weeks, during the second week in November (which is the month of my birth), or possibly both. But I'm not really chomping at the bit to come yet since I most recently visited over Father's Day!

We're going to expect a very detailed trip report. Have a great time & I hope your dad's situation gets worked out.
From one obsessive planner to another (and planning "events" is also my profession!).....I have some advice for you:

OK, first....take a deep breath.

And then take about 5 more....oxygen deprivation affects your ability to think. Stress causes oxygen deprivation. You are stressed!

Remember, you will be in Vegas tomorrow - if the ENTIRE plan isn't perfect yet, you can always work on it in transit and after you arrive. Just leave lots of space on your print outs so that you can make manual adjustments as necessary. Heck, even if the plan was perfect, you'd probably still have to make some adjustments along the way anyway!

Give yourself a break - it will all get done.

And if it doesn't, well, you'll just finish it all in VEGAS! Prioritize what you must get done at home (like packing) and what you can do in transit (additional planning) and what you can do when you get there (like **gasp** work or more planning). That may help reduce your stress level a bit.

Have a great time, I for one will miss your posts about your planning! It's almost time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Go get 'em, tiger!

Cheers,
Deanna
Thanks RecVP for the good wishes and Colonel, I'll do my best re: a trip report. I won't do a daily one but my plan is to write a bit each day and then post it at the end. Thanks also for your good wishes about my dad. He's in pretty good shape and though my day yesterday didn't turn out as planned, I have much more peace of mind heading into the trip knowing that all of his medical issues have been addressed.

Deanna, When I read your post a few hours ago I did as you suggested, first breathing, and it really helped! I also decided that given that I need another few hours to finish my promo list, it wasn't going to happen before my departure. I'll work on it on the plane (when I'm not knocked out cold) and when I get to Vegas (later today) and will post for the LVA gang for sure! But, I took care of the things I HAD to take care of, like packing , doing 4 weeks of my dad's meds, etc. I'm pooped and didn't go to sleep but I'm feeling all right!

FFlowers enjoy your trip and win lots! Remember you can sleep on the plane.
I'm just the opposite, just start slamming things together a day or two before the trip...I always plan to plan, but never seem to do a very good job of it. To cap things off, we just decided to move our trip up a day so we're leaving Thursday. We got to talking and realized that WE RETIRED! We're no longer tied to waiting for the end of the week to travel. Since we're driving, we just get in the car a day early. Woo hoo...just one more VERY BUSY day of packing and last minute details...like MONEY! I'm excited.

Oh yea, this is your thread and it's not all about me. Hope you have a wonderful flight and win tons of money. I think we may be seeing you there as I believe you're on the member meet list. Have fun anyway. k
Hey FFlowers,

As I'm thinking about this right now, since you are going to be in town for a while, maybe you should go online on every Friday and Sunday that you're there to check out the Player's Edge Column (on Friday) and the Vegas Values column (on Sundays) so you don't end up missing anything new that may come along since you last checked!

I wish you good Skill, Luck and Discipline!

Elaine enjoys Vegas at least as much as I do. However, she has no interest in the planning. The months of work I do preping a trip is at least 10% of the fun of a trip for me.
We are going on our 4th trip in 5 years in 34 days time and I have been planning this trip since March, But for the life of me I do not know why.

The last 3 trips I had about 2 sheets of paper for every day and I think it was probably about the second day of every trip that I threw them in the bucket, must go to this restaurant , must see this , must drink there, impossible .

So this year I only have 2 sheets of paper for every day............OH god I have done it again.
LMAO techno . Planning is everything. Actually doing ALL the stuff planned never happens. Well she's on her way , safe travel and I know I good TR is coming.
