Tony Hsieh - king of downtown Vegas revitalization - dead at 46

Died in a house fire

THis is the former ceo of Zappos that built the container park, Gold SPike community center, and bankrolled the restaurant "EAT"...among other projects.

I saw his full presentation of projects a few years ago at a conference.    He wanted to prove that an area full of blight and poverty could be turned around into a cultural and entrapreneureal center of prosperity.    Truly a great loss for the city

He did nothing to revitalize the neighborhoods that surround downtown on the south, west, and east sides (the north is taken up by the train tracks). There are little patches of new growth, such as the so-called "arts district," but still, anyone venturing more than a couple of blocks from Glitter Gulch is taking their life in their hands. In particular, Vegas's fabled "crack district" along Ogden street is still a thriving haven of entrepreneurship and people ready to exercise their Second Amendment rights (we used to call such people "trigger-happy drug dealers").

Hsieh was willing to bankroll lots of glitzy projects but put nothing toward improving the surrounding neighborhoods. The result is that downtown Vegas looks like the Atlantic City boardwalk--lots of neon surrounded by an area where you wouldn't want to venture unless you were packing heat and wearing body armor.

Classic posting by Kevin. Dismissive, negative, and just plain mean. Typical of him - says all one needs to know about who he is.

Classic posting by David: adding nothing to the discussion, attacking another poster, and exhibiting just plain assholery. That 99% of David's postings are nothing more than that shows everyone what he is, and that ain't pretty. Or honorable. Or anything other than simply nauseating.

Kevin always complains with others don't do enough while he does nothing but suck off of the government tit.

I'm editing here.  Sorry folks, I should have only commented about this within the Kitchen Sink format.

Corrected to read TRUTHFULLY -"Classic posting by Kevin: saying nothing truthful, attacking another person, and exhibiting just plain assholery. That 99% of Kevin's postings are nothing more than that shows everyone what he is, and that ain't pretty. Or honorable. Or anything other than simply nauseating."

More plagiarism, Davey-poo. Think for yourself. Don't hijack my words--that's limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid. You do that a lot, even though you make yourself look like a fool every time.

Correcting an incorrect, lying posting is not plagiarism.--- You mean for me not to "hijack" your words, such as - limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid'?  Keep it up and you will have to answer for your "words".

Using the words of another is indeed plagiarism--by definition. It's lazy, intellectually empty, and yes, limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid. However, if you wish not to be limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid, all you have to do is avoid doing limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid things, like plagiarizing other people's writing. Then you won't have to worry about looking so limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid. You'll only be considered limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid if you do limp-dicked, cowardly, and stupid things.

Like plagiarism.
