Top 5 Casinos away from the Strip and Freemont

We are renting a car out of Golden Nugget for a day of Casino Hopping. We are wanting to make some of the local Casinos and a few eaterys that have been recommended off of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Just wondering what everyones top 5 local Casinos and Restaurants? Thanks! We generally stay at Main Street(No resort fees).

In no particular order, my top 5 locals casinos would be M Resort, South Point, Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch and the Palms.  As far as restaurants that Guy and I have visited, I enjoyed Lola's (Charleston location) (blackened catfish and grits), Bachi Burger (Ronin burger) Forte (biscuit cake for dessert) and Fat Choy (fat benedict on Sundayy breakfast or short rib grilled cheese). The MRB coupon includes a coupon for Fat Choy making it a must do.

I have the same casino list as Westie, except instead of Palms, I'd substitute Aliante.

For casinos I might take a day trip on a Wed for senior day if you are as minimal play at a Boyd casino or Station will get you a free buffet-I know you want to try an eatery, but if free you can try one.  In one day you wont visit 5 and also eat somewhere so I would maybe hit Red Rock, Orleans, South Point, and finish with a stop at Ellis Island and your 3 free drinks coupon.

OMG - how could I, of all people, forget to include Ellis?

The Tuscany is my favorite.    Great restaurants on site and easy to get comps for them on their point multiplier days (12x/6x points Mon and Wed)

They have a huge video poker bar

Jeez I don't know if I've ever been to tuscany, I might have to stop in next trip and check it out.

Tuscany also has Pub 365, where they stock 365 different beers, some of which rotate.

Southpoint,Orleans,Sam's Town,Suncoast and Red Rock.Sadly, had to take M Resort off my list. Was out in January, they really gutted there video poker pretty much through the whole place, except I think two carousels that are marked that they pay up to 100%.To bad, had some good days their. I'm done with them now

The pickings are getting worse. I would recommend:

1. South Point - Good video poker and a wide variety of restaurants.

2. Tuscany - Play on one of the point multiplier days.

3. Rampart - Play on one of the point multiplier days.

4. Boyd properties - Play on one of the point multiplier days. But their offers are getting much lower than in the past.

-Would avoid the Palms until the construction is over.

-Would avoid all other Station casinos. They don't like winners.
