You will have about two hours of daylight to work with. If it's close to the solstice, more like 2 1/2.

Brent, the Inner Harbour is the place to go. The Legislative Buildings are lit up at night. That's where the action is and there is usually lots going on. For souvenirs, walk over to Government Street from the Inner Harbour. It is pedestrian only and there are some neat shops. You can easily do this in a couple of hours.
Thanks for the info Barbara. We were wondering if it was even worth it to get off the ship for a few hours, but now it looks like we will get to see some of Victoria on July 4th.
Edso we are looking at booking our specialty dining night this week. Some of the times are filled up on the 3 days for the steak house. And yes thanks again Barbara

For our ship its Umai Teppanyaki, which is basically like Benihana's. No reservations available for any times. We got the steakhouse, the seafood place and the Italian restaurant on the Star with no problem, but the habachi place is extremely popular. Going to try and see if we can get a reservation once we get on board, in case people have cancelled theirs.
