Hi Group,
I found the links to more Jewels of shows that were done by Huell Howser. One of them is a show about Zzyzx (which is an exit about which a lot of people wonder about what was and is there). This show can now be viewed at: https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/2008/09/04/californias-golden-parks-160-zzyzx/. I saw the show when it originally aired as well as more recently and I found it quite interesting!
And although this entire website is still a work in progress, three more shows that Huell Howser did that are available to view right now have to do with the Death Valley area. They are:
1). "Life In Death Valley" which is at: https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/1995/12/10/life-in-death-valley-californias-gold-606/;
2). "Scotty's Castle" which is at: https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/1995/12/10/scottys-castle-californias-gold-607/
as well as 3). "Wedding Of The Waters -- California's Gold (110)" which can be viewed at: https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/1999/08/12/71/. This has to do with the opening of a road to Death Valley from Lone Pine and the marriage of water from the highest lake in the U.S. (by Mt. Whitney) to the lowest lake in the U.S. -- Bad Water in Death Valley.
I also know that there was a Huell Howser "Road Trip" show that went to the Tourist attractions around Barstow (one of the usual stops for people on the route between Southern California and Las Vegas). It has not been posted in the archives yet and so if it shows up, I'll post it. Until then, if people want to see that episode, they will have to purchase it from: https://www.calgold.com and then from there, in the search function, go to "Road Trip -- Barstow."
Also, there was another show about Death Valley called "Springtime In Death Valley" when they actually ended up having water in the Bad Water Lake and Huell even ended up Kayaking in there. If (when) that show becomes available online, I'll post it here.
And if I run across any more shows, I'll post them.
