Used both on trip to Vegas. Both were very good. Anyone else had experience with ride sharing in Vegas? I see they both are now available at the airport.
Tried Lyft for the first time last month. Downloaded FLYLV promo when we landed for 5-$10 credits. Airport to Cosmo $12 (-$10) Harrahs to Airport $10.50; $15 during surge (both -$10) Cars nicer, less hassle than cabbies trying to long haul you.
First time to try Uber from airport; what is the typical fare to downtown and back during slow time. Is the pickup area in the taxi area? Always rent a car on our trips here but rates next week are double and triple the norm. Thanks in advance!
Ride Guru says $20 for Lyft or Uber; Taxi $44. Unless there is surge pricing (which means demand is high) For airport pick up, take the 2nd floor pedestrian bridge to the parking garage at McCarran; go up one more fight & that is where they will pick you up. Areas at hotels will vary--on my Lyft app it always gave a specific description of where they would pick you up. (it tends to be a tad inconvenient; I'm sure the cab companies worked that one out)
Used Lyft from our home in Henderson to the airport a few weeks ago - was $22 instead of the normal $45 taxi fare. Used Uber on the way back...was $18. Although the estimate for Uber was $39 (surge pricing) to use it to the airport when we left...I'd check out both, and select the better price. Enjoyable experience in both cases.
Have used uber several times in LV. With one exception it was a quality service at low cost. In particular, I've been surprised at the speed of pick up, particularly near the strip. The one bad experience I had led to a refund of a $5 charge. I've had two different drivers that drove for both services. Why anyone would use a cab with this alternative is beyond me.
